Together with Greenland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Vivian Motzfeldt, Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen visited a hydroelectric power plant located about 50 kilometres south of Nuuk. The power plant supplies electricity to the capital and is therefore considered critical infrastructure. At present, Danish soldiers are training to guard the facility as part of the Danish Armed Forces’ increased military presence in Greenland. During the visit, Troels Lund Poulsen and Vivian Motzfeldt thanked the soldiers for their service. —DR

After covering more than 2,000 nautical miles, two Danish helicopters have successfully arrived in Nuuk, Greenland. The journey from Air Base Karup (DK) to Nuuk in Greenland 🇬🇱 with the two EH‑101 helicopters took over 17 hours and is part of the Danish Armed Forces’ increased presence in Greenland in the time ahead. In Greenland, the helicopters will be part of operational task-solving and will, among other things, conduct training with the Greenlandic soldiers from the Arctic Basic Training and a number of other authorities. OPERATION GREENLAND: Denmark rushed troops & its navy into Greenland over a fictional US invasion. The irony is brutal. The US already protects Greenland by treaty. Denmark is the only one actually invading. Danish leaders ordered a major military deployment to Greenland, including a full platoon & most of their navy. The justification was fear of a US invasion even though US forces are already stationed there under treaty obligations to defend the island. Instead of coordination, Denmark chose escalation. The deployment amounts to a unilateral occupation of territory already covered by American defense guarantees.
