DESIGN.md is how we work with agents now, but a text file is a terrible way for a human to make a visual decision. So we built our preview to give some of that control back: edit the file as text or pick colors visually, and the two stay... show more

In the era of long-context LLMs, I needed a way to quickly convert a GitHub repo into a text file to feed as a prompt. Introducing RepoToTextForLLMs 📖 Not only does it return the full repo in one file, but it also appends a super prompt for analysis and understanding 👇

Turn any website into an AI-readable design system. Here's how: Google recently introduced the DESIGN.md specification: a file that helps AI agents understand a product’s design system. So we built a free tool for designers. Paste any website URL and Masumi’s DESIGN.md Generator extracts the brand’s colors, typography, components, spacing, and visual rules into an editable DESIGN.md file. Your designer can review it, tweak it, and hand it to Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or any AI coding agent so the generated UI stays on-brand. Links below

#WATCH | Delhi: At the joint press conference with EAM Dr S Jaishankar, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says, "I have to go back and justify to the American people every decision we make, and the President has to do the same on why it's good for our country, and our counterparts here in India have to do the exact same thing... I imagine this is true in every country in the world to some degree, but it is particularly true for democracies... In democracies, you have opposition parties. You have a free and open media. By the you have a lot of media. You guys have a lot of media, which means a lot of scrutiny and a lot of attention. But that begins to align our interests immediately, because we both recognise and have mutual respect and understanding that every decision we make, every announcement we make, everything we work together on, we ultimately have to go back and justify it to our voters, to our people, the people who put us in these positions to begin with..."

Kathryn Bigelow on how the idea for "Near Dark" (1987) was conceived: "'Near Dark' (1987) started because we wanted to do a Western. But as no one will finance a Western, we thought, “Okay, how can we subvert the genre? Let’s do a Western but disguise it in such a way that it gets sold as something else.” Then we thought, “Ha, a vampire Western!” So it became a wonderful meld of two mythologies: the Western and the vampire movie. One reinforced the other. That sort of clicked. We came up with some characters and then put them in horrible structures to see what happened." (Kathryn Bigelow's interview with Ana Maria Bahiana, 1992)

I put an entire codebase in a text file and gave it to Gemini 1.5 Pro. I gave it a task that required updating ~10 files across the entire codebase - so decently complex. It got about 80% of the work done for me on a 1st attempt. Watch to see in-depth on how it performed.

We release Whistle: speech to text in a 16.9MB file, running on the CPU in the same engine as Needle. It mostly beats Whisper base with 9x less file size and 6x speed. Whistle supports English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Polish.

This is how i build everything now. Before the agents touch a line of code "before you do any building make 10 mock ups in html of how we can make it look" I then pick a path and ask for more mockups until I feel happy with the feel. The only way to work with these things.

JD Vance on Iran: What really happened here is that we did sign the MOU on Sunday. That locked in the terms of the deal. What the Iranians came to us and said is, "We'd like not to release the text until Friday." I didn't really understand that—I wanted to get the text out immediately. But in order to be accommodating to them, we said, "Sure, okay, we'll wait until Friday." And then what happened over Monday and Tuesday, while the President was at the G7, is that maybe foreign leaders were talking to the Iranians and encouraging them to do that. We were definitely saying to them, "We understand your desire not to have the text out until Friday, but, you know, we live in a democratic system. The American people want to see the text of this deal. We would certainly like to get it out as soon as possible." And so they came up with having their president sign it, our president sign it, and then just releasing the text as a signed document immediately at that point.

Carney on the end of the old world order: "That is our view. And we regret it, but we're not going to sit around and mourn it... We're acting in a way, both that's in our interest, but we believe, in a way with others, that's building imperfectly in steps a new system."

Kamala Harris: We cannot despair. We cannot despair. The nature of a democracy is such that I think there's a duality. On the one hand, there's an incredible strength when our democracy is intact. An incredible strength in what it does to protect the freedoms and rights of its people. Oh, there's great strength in that. And it is very fragile. It is only as strong as our willingness to fight for it. And so that's the moment we're in. And I say do not despair because in a democracy, as long as we can keep it, in our democracy the people, every individual has the power to make a decision about what this will be. And so let's not feel powerless. Because then we have been defeated. And that's not our character as the American people. We are not one to be defeated. We rise to a moment and we stand on broad shoulders of people who have fought this fight before for our country. And in many ways let us look at the challenge then that we are being presented and not be overwhelmed by it. The baton is now in our hands, to fight for, not against, but for this country we love.

Mati Staniszewski on why ElevenLabs is betting on a cascaded approach for voice agents: “Our approach, as you think about voice agents, conversational agents, is effectively a cascaded approach. You use transcription or speech-to-text, an LLM, text-to-speech, and orchestrate all of that together. Then you have speech-to-speech, which goes directly from speech, and there’s a speech response on the other side. Today, we are optimizing heavily on a cascaded approach. As we work with a lot of the businesses and enterprises, they will need that visibility into what happens. They will want to execute certain tasks on top of that. They want good visibility into each of the steps and great accuracy of all the models. But beyond that, they can abstract away what’s the LLM layer, what’s the intelligence layer, and the integrations are easier in that system. That’s where we are betting a lot of the research work on how you can make that great, and we think we can make that great.” John Collison @matiii ElevenLabs

DeepSeek can see now in Codex!! Two days ago that was the only thing our router couldn't do. DeepSeek's API is still text only, so we stopped waiting and built it into the router ourselves. Drop a screenshot into Codex, same picker, same model, it reads it now!!!

The DESIGN.md upgrade is officially live in Stitch! 🚀 Yesterday we open-sourced the spec, and today we are giving you more tools to use it: 📄 Start with DESIGN.md: Attach a DESIGN.md right at the start of a project. Don't have one? Our new wizard will help you extract one from your code base or the web. 🔄 DESIGN.md to Design System: Upload a DESIGN.md file to generate a Design System on the canvas. 🧩 Token Support: Design Systems now support design tokens from DESIGN.md! Add them to your file and Stitch will seamlessly incorporate them. 🗑️ Clean Up: (You asked, we listened) You can now easily delete a design system. We’re excited to build the open design standard together. 👇

Streamlining the UX in Gemini CLI ✨ We got a lot of feedback on how our UI was way too cluttered with noise and text... so we made changes! 🛠️ Compact tool calls: Tool calls for reading files, folders, searching text, etc are now a single line (no more tool boxes around everything!) 💭 Topics: The agent outputs a one line overview of the rationale and direction it is going. A topic can span several tool calls and makes it easy to see what the agent is working on at a glance and why.

File systems are quickly becoming a core abstraction for AI agents for knowledge work. By having access to a file system, agents can effectively manage context, process any amount of information, and create new files and data. The challenge is that local file systems are inherently limited in size, lack governance capabilities, and are inherently personal -not collaborative- in nature. Now, with the Box API and LangChain's deepagent SDK, you can bring the full power of a secure, collaborative cloud file system to your AI agents. Repo ↓

Back in the 90s we discovered strontium aluminate - the most powerful glow-in-the-dark substance there is, as far as we know. It is easy to make as a powder, but almost impossible to grow as a crystal, and a friend of Gems of Science(Turtle's Hoard (Gems of Science)) spent 13 years of his life figuring out how. The powder is opaque, so shining a light at a vial of it only ever charges the surface layer. Light goes right into a crystal and charges the whole thing, and it stays visible for days in the dark. They have only ever grown nine of these crystals. Gems of Science funded three of them. Go check out Stephen and Tim at Gems of Science:
