The children in Gaza Camp in Deir Al Balah were barefoot, some wearing summer clothes, and all were cold. This camp gets minimal support and none of the families had anything to keep them warm for winter. Our The Sameer Project team got to work after taking the sizes of all the children at the camp, organizating a distribution of warm winter jackets, ensuring there was one for each child in need. We provided 103 jackets, each one heavy, water proof and lined, to keep them warm during the winter storms. Each one was approximately $23 and cost a total 2,290 after 9% commission. We are right in the middle of winter and need your help to distribute more warm clothing and protective jackets. Donate to our “Give Warmth to Gaza” initiative in our Return Home Campaign. This elderly couple is struggling with the cold weather in Gaza, and lack of support. Both the elderly and their daughter can’t walk and are wheelchair users. The Sameer Project contacted the family to check what they need and on December 17th, we visited them in Khan Younis and provided 2 mattresses, 2 blankets and a large tarp. The total cost with 9% commission was $172. Blankets and tarps are in huge demand now with the strong cold and constant rain. It is predicted to rain again on Saturday and we would like to do mass distributions of blankets and tarps with your support. Donate to the Give Warmth to Gaza Campaign today. There are 20 million out-of-school children in Nigeria and to say the least, it's scary. There are NO TOILETS at all in this school in Gaza with over 2,000 students, support here: A school was set up in Nuseirat in a half demolished building. This school started with 50 students and overtime grew to 2,300 students who rotate in morning and afternoon shifts. To provide a toilet unit with 2 toilets, the cost will be around $7,500 with 11% commission and probably another $500 for plumbing and transportation costs. Your support is needed to provide the school with a basic necessity: toilets! We built a school! The Sameer Project provided Al Bashir school with 3 small tents in the past. However, this school that’s located in Deir El Balah grew quickly with the number of students applying getting higher, especially now with the displacements of families from the North to the South. Tomorrow is the opening inshallah. This is why the Sameer Project decided to expand the school to four large tents, which now allows 800 students when previously the school could only accommodate 350 students. The campus included tents, chairs, tables, benches, fencing, gates, toilets, plumbing and electricity generator. The cost of the school was $14,210 with 11% commission for bank transfer and $4,055 with 45% commission for cash. Total expenditure was $18,265. Education is central to Palestinians. Education is our weapon, education is our resistance. Thank you for allowing us to make this happen and a big thank you to our incredible team on the ground for their efforts on this.
