Sub-millisecond on-device MLS is a strong result, especially with Rust and Nitro in the path. The useful next comparison would be end-to-end cost: key schedule, message-size scaling, and tail latency under concurrent sessions—not only the single-operation median.

Elon Musk on XChat: “There are just some things that are less insecure than others. So, you know, on X, we just rebuilt the entire messaging stack into what's called XChat. It's using a sort of a peer-to-peer based encryption system. It's kind of similar to Bitcoin. I think it's very good encryption. We're testing it thoroughly. There are no hooks in the X system for advertising. So if you look at something like WhatsApp or really any of the others, they've got hooks in there for advertising. [Hook is] like WhatsApp knows enough about what you're texting to know what ads to show you. That's a massive security vulnerability.”

Thats what the Liberals are doing except instead of your home it’s targeting the entire infrastructure of the digital world. Infrastructure protected by encryption. Last night the Liberals rammed through Bill C-22. While there are good parts to the Bill that Conservatives support to help law enforcement, we don’t support increasing surveillance powers on law abiding Canadians. Even if Government never abuses these new powers, the vulnerabilities that could be created could be used by criminal groups and hostile foreign governments to break encryption. Compromising the integrity of encryption compromises the security and privacy of Canadians.

Why did he need WATERPROOF pouches on a sunny day in the middle of the desert in the summer? Did he bring waterproof holders just in case—knowing ahead of time he was supposed to position himself by the water fountain on purpose? Is this a nothing-burger, or is there more going on here?
