I just finished Episode 7 using only the Character Sheet + Location Sheet to generate this complete 20-shot videos. The era of generating images one by one before generating the video has officially OVER! I used Google Flow for the entire video, and 90–95% of each shot was generated successfully on the first attempt. Honestly, this video took me almost 5 hours because Flow AI as usual FLAGGING. I nearly gave up. My honest advice, for your sanity and mental health, please focus on using Grok for your video. Flow AI will frustrate your life. However, enjoy Episode 7: “Both Hands Empty.”

Our very own Alexander Chen created "Hello, world" a short film inspired by the technology of his childhood with Google Labs Flow. Here's a closer look at how he brought his vision to life: 1) All of the clips were generated in Flow using text-to-image prompts except he used image-to-video prompts for the close-up shots to ensure consistency and accuracy (and the images used were generated by Imagen). 2) To evoke the exact feelings of his childhood home, he used Google Street View for visual references then asked the Google Gemini to write descriptions and prompts, then uploaded those into Flow which is what produced such vivid and accurate renderings in the film. 3) Every sound used in the video is generated by Veo 3. However, to blend things together, he used a separate video editing software to extend the head and tail of each clip over the proceeding and following clip, occasionally crossfading the audio to help with transitions.

When I’m trying to improve the user experience of my applications, one of the most valuable things is being able to see an entire user flow as a storyboard. Not just one screen or screenshot at a time. This is something I love using the `/visual-plan` skill for. You can describe any flow you want, and the agent will look through your code and wireframe out a storyboard of what the flow looks like. Then you can visualize the steps in a simplified way and spot areas to improve. Recently, I found that in certain flows we were still asking for organizations, even though I thought I had gotten rid of that and made it automatic. A quick storyboard let me see all the different code paths in a simple, visual, intuitive way. Spot the areas of the flow I didn’t want. And have the agent fix it. Sign up, onboarding, and setup flows are usually some of the most important experiences in your app. And usually the least looked at. Especially because it can be hard to reproduce every flow, for every situation, for every user type, feature flag, or whatever else you have. The `/visual-plan` skill lets you visualize any part of your code. Either to understand the current state, plan out a new state, or recap updates that were made. I’m pretty addicted to this skill. I use it for a lot of other things too, so let me know if you want to see videos on those. And of course it’s all open source. You can grab it on my GitHub. I'll link to it in the thread. Google approached me and asked if I would be down to collab with their research team to create a film for Google I/O. Not only would I have access to Flow, their latest AI filmmaking tool, but I would also be responsible for giving feedback on the product itself. The filmmaker in me was excited for the challenge, but the technologist in me was living out my dream in helping mold a next-generation product for a new era of filmmaking. Experimenting with the tool has been a fun ride. I’ve been using shot by shot image to video model before, but I just tried out the Character Sheet method this morning. I used single image to generate 9 videos. I created this using Flow AI, the free version, to be precise. Enjoy Episode 5: "Dogs Are Buried"
