Looks to me like the cover and the oil were replaced. More maintenance than repair.

I had one lock up while I was going down the road in a 76 Impala in the early 90s. The car hopped violently a couple times as it stopped and then the drive shaft was smacking the road. I went to the junkyard the next day and got an entire rear end and replaced it. 🤣

WTF! This is NOT a differential repair. Repair means: Remove all gears and axels Replace all damaged gears. Replace all bushings and gaskets Replace differential cover (if damaged, as shown) Flush entire differential housing. Putting all back in place. Add oil differential.

Am I crazy or did the guy just take the cover off and cleaned it up very nice then just re-installed the cover and topped the diff off with oil? Lol

Maybe it should be titled differential "cover" replace. It is a repair though, that sucker was gonna blow. If not replaced there definitely was gonna be a repair lol.
