"Consequences need to be serious" for the Chinese hacking of U.S. telecom companies, says Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), and there also must be a way to "get them off of" the infrastructure that has been hacked. "Some of this is going to require that the telecom companies upgrade their infrastructure — that could be costly," he says. "We're working with them to do that."

The Data (Use and Access) Bill must be stopped. This is not a new piece of legislation, it’s a rebranded version of the Data Protection and Digital Information Bill. Which the Conservative government failed to push through before the general election. Now, Labour are trying again. This bill paves the way for an all-encompassing digital identity system. Despite assurances that digital IDs will be voluntary. The reality is that once these systems are embedded into everyday life, for banking, government services or even supermarket age verification—opting out becomes impossible. The infrastructure for control is being built, and history shows that when governments and corporations gain more access to personal data, they do not give it back. The UK government is desperate to introduce digital ID, under the guise of addressing the same migrant crisis it is helping to facilitating in the first place. 🤡 Digital ID is THE line in the sand that must not be crossed, under any circumstances.
