DistroKid has the dumbest fees I've ever seen. I have 20 different $1 charges show up on my card every year for Shazam access for songs. Something that's free with literally every other Distro. Their business model is outdated and they're resting on their laurels.

I hate that DK charges $5 CAD per track per year for content ID + 20% of revenue streams, I'm happy I don't use their service anymore. Also I heard that if you miss a payment, they remove all your music from all platforms (unless you buy their expensive "leave a legacy" option)💀

The. If you upload with them they don’t take care of it. I had someone try to claim my tracks several times. As well as when you decide to leave distro kid and move to another distro they will hold your music hostage till you pay “closing fees”

They're all unnecessary add-ons, except for perhaps leaving a legacy. Annoyingly the leaving a legacy is not worth it because Spotify takes down your song either way for "fraudulent plays"
