She is just marking her bottle so that other crew don't use it.

Just that 🙄

Due to different air pressure in an airplane compared to the ground, opening a sealed water bottle can cause water to splash out forcefully. Removing the wrapper helps ensure the bottle can be easily opened without causing a mess on flight seats or passengers. This keeps the bottle continuously vented and pressure balanced so passengers can open their drinks safely without any unexpected splashing

Profilbild von Vije
Vijevor 5 Monaten

So you mean that with wrapper, pressure difference happens?🤔

Profilbild von jayaa 💜🩵
jayaa 💜🩵vor 5 Monaten

A sealed wrapper keeps air trapped inside. If you press it or outside air pressure changes, the pressure becomes uneven, causing force on the wrapper.

No science behind this . It’s a trick to gain more likes on social media. Tying a wrapper helps ease atmospheric pressure is a new low from low iq team.

This isn’t that hard to figure out. She wanted to identify her water bottle from other crew members.

Is there a science behind this?

This is perhaps one of the galley habits of flight attendants to prevent 'opened-unsealed water-bottle mix‑ups' with personalized knots. Have seen some use pen markers too. Prevents taking a sip from a colleague’s bottle by mistake which is a hygiene risk too.

Profilbild von Vije
Vijevor 5 Monaten

So this is merely for identification?

Is that the only reason 🙄

Profilbild von Zorba
Zorbavor 5 Monaten

This cabin crew hack prepares bottles for altitude-related cabin pressure shifts during flight, allowing pressure equalization to avoid leaks, bulging, or cap blow-offs from expansion and contraction. Shh..

Profilbild von Vije
Vijevor 5 Monaten

But that doesn't happen with passenger bottles, though. Anyway how does that stop it by tying it

Is it specific to any airlines or most of the air hostesses do this? 🤔

Profilbild von Dream Weaver
Dream Weavervor 5 Monaten

Most likely they are marking it to differentiate from a bottle discarded by a passenger.

Profilbild von Vije
Vijevor 5 Monaten

You mean the brand of the water bottle 🤨

Profilbild von Dream Weaver
Dream Weavervor 5 Monaten

No, brand would be same. If a passenger consumes a part of a bottle served and they return the bottle and if it is not discarded immediately, then the crew can consume that unknowingly. By marking their own bottle they can avoid this.

Profilbild von Vije
Vijevor 5 Monaten

So just for the identification, if every air hostess try to make the same way ? 🤨

Profilbild von Dream Weaver
Dream Weavervor 5 Monaten

Maybe they dont mind sharing amongst themselves but would avoid drinking water discarded by a passenger.

Does cost cutting mean airlines are unable to give bottled water to the passenger and crew by the airlines are as complementary? If the airline is going to provide a water bottle at some very nominal rate like railways are providing then it is settled 🤷

Profilbild von Vije
Vijevor 5 Monaten

That should be the actual way out. But problem is Airline industries are the most expensive in terms of maintenance stock, so to cover it up, everything is done costly I feel.

Profilbild von ncsukumar
ncsukumarvor 5 Monaten

Dear friend if I am running an airlines I will ask one particular brand mineral water company to sponsor water bottles to the passengers with a condition that the bottles will get advertised because of the visibility they get and the matter is settled and in fact you can even charge money from the like cricket board is collecting money from sponsors for putting logos on the player shirts. Where there is a will there is always a way 😊

Its so simple and you can also guess it when you apply for a moment. Think why that was wrapped around the neck? As also, when in flight-air pressure drops... so what happens when you open a bottle where outside pressure is more? Hope you got this😊 now?

Profilbild von Vije

Yeah but literally it is interesting to know why only the crew does it, not for the passengers water bottles, if the cabin pressure of the real reason 😊

@vijeshetty, you have a point there. I think it can be for avoiding water spillage from the edges. Or maybe even for identification of bottles?

As crew you have to hydrate due to time spent in the cabin. Since there are lots of crew trying to hydrate at same time, she is trying to mark her own bottle so one drinks from it. 👍🏾
