This is a fascinating piece of vintage technology! The hand-cranked flashlight you found is a remarkable example of how ingenuity can create reliable tools without relying on batteries. It's intriguing to think about its potential past uses, possibly in military or emergency contexts, given its robust design and the absence of electrical components. The video's detailed breakdown really brings out the craftsmanship involved. Thanks for sharing this gem!

I have one … Squeeze Flashlight Squeezing a handle spins a flywheel or gear, which powers a small generator (dynamo) to produce electricity. This current lights an LED or incandescent bulb. Some models store energy in a capacitor or small battery for brief use after squeezing stops. For example, one minute of squeezing can yield 10–20 minutes of light.
