Looks like inoculated substrate for further fruiting. Pretty cool mycology. Looks like they let a bigger chunk of substrate come to full colonization, then they break it down and reshape it around the pvc rods with netting to give a higher surface area for the fruiting period. Pretty cool to see, never seen this kind of technique. I love mycology, if you have never grown fungus... you owe it to yourself to give it a go at least 1 time.
