I'm going to be the boring serious one and say that flaps are the edges of the wing that can be raised to increase the amount of lift (and drag) created. They're retracted during cruising but in a dogfight they can help with maneuverability by allowing lower speeds without stall.

Basic flaps knowlege for me Flaps are basically helps the plane for usually landing flaps for stablizing the plane or combat flaps as their aerodynamic helps turn faster, flying too fast flaps will break off In space? There is no air resistance so flaps in space are useless
