Great to work with Chad Boat and Ty Gibbs @carolina_speedway. Chad's operation is first class. Ty was very impressive. He really took to the car like a professional and was very smooth, he wasn't lacking for speed and gave great feed back as we made the car better with each run.

The cloth animation in this game is mesmerizing. There are some very good examples in Rainy's introduction cutscene too, and in the camera mode with the ladies. I wonder if it's real-time or if it's simulated and baked into the animation, since it's all during cinematics

People do this kind of thing when they feel they are experiencing reality at a high frame rate. It does not feel risky to hold a laptop by a corner if you feel like you have an “agency frame” every half second. It feels risky if you have an “agency frame” every 60 seconds. You’d be betting that a hand you do not have control over for 60 seconds will keep gripping. Our conscious frame rate can vary dramatically throughout the day, and it’s hard to perceive the difference because we can only sample ourselves at our conscious frame rate, we can’t oversample ourselves. People drunk drive because they fail to perceive their slower frame rate. Their frame rate feels normal because it matches their sample rate. But we do get a subtle sense of when we’re “switched on”. 🇮🇱 A new video of Nethanyahu appeared showing him visiting a coffee shop. It is AI or real? Again I'm not sure (how can one be today) but there sure are enough strange elements, here's my take: - The video is EXACTLY 1 min long 🤔 - There's a cut just before he shows his hands? suggesting editing. - The cup seems to be filled to the edge though there's no spilling. And unrealistic coffee surface movement - More frame jumps further into the video. - Why is the guy in the back wearing sunglasses and a mask? - Nethanyahu's skin is very smooth, skin tone and overall lightning is also very uniform. - The shoe coming into the frame at the bottom right at the very end seems strange. It taps on the floor and then slides forward. When you get up from a chair you pull your feet backwards. If someone was standing already you don't slide your shoe across the floor and the body would most likely be in the frame also.

From International Space Station, we have a unique vantage point to observe lightning storms from directly above them. Much like from the ground, they appear as rapid, intense flashes that are over as quickly as they started. But, with the help of handheld cameras and a bit of practice (and, admittedly, some luck), we can capture these intense flashes with a very high frame rate then slow them down to see how the lightning propagates. It's lightning, in slow motion. This is one that occurred over Indonesia on 6/28. I shot it for a half second at 1/120 frame rate, so, 60 separate frames. I then compiled those frames into two videos: the first, in real-time, and the second, slowed down so that each frame is a half second to highlight the progression of the flash. Note the incredible burst of light in one frame, which includes what is likely a TLE on the upper left. A TLE, or Transient Luminous Event, is an electrical discharge that happens in the upper atmosphere above lightning storms (if you haven’t seen Ferry Farhan TLE photo from last week, head over to her page). As their name implies, these are transient, or short lived, phenomena – it appeared in only one frame of the sequence, lasting for no more than 1/120th of a second. The last photo is that single frame. Absolutely incredible.

E.g., I asked Sol to make a new blog for 5.6 with a celestial theme. - Much better CUA - Can work for much longer and is less lazy But it's not all great: - The writing quality has improved, but it's still bad in artifacts - Too many options with models/reasoning/fast mode/Cerebras/multi-agent We'll fix the above. What else should we improve? PS: belated post as there are so many other good models to train.

Very buggy but we got DOS and DOOM to run now The issue I have now is that the screen is overlayed on to the ThreeJS (but positioned properly) But if you go the sides there you wil see no occlusion (as in the monitor frame doesn't overlay the screen) And me and Claude Code have no idea how to do that either
