Really enjoyed your video Dr. Keane but I think you are being a little kind to economists when you say it's not their fault that their benign predictions favour companies doing very little. Many economists have been thought with a frame of reference being perpetual growth.

I would hate to be too kind to them! But I often emphasise that they say what they say because they believe it, when many people think they do it because they're paid to. They're "true believers", and therefore far more dangerous than hired guns.

Economists see the world in purely economic terms, whether they be Capitalists or Marxists. Why make excuses for your greed and psychopathology? Even if climate change is a hoax your endless push for more and more growth is creating hell on earth.

Not yet. There was an auto @YouTube flag because of the words "climate change" and "catastrophe". It interprets that as non-factual hyperbole--when in fact the non-factual hyperbole is the trivial damage assumptions by economists. We're going through manual rechecking now.
