Double Age Verification is really stupid...

I was in an instance where these people were arguing with a literal vrchat staff member who told them they couldn't ask people for that information if they were already ID verified one of the wiseass instance mods decided to reply with "well its our instance and if you don't like it then do something about it". he got kicked (staff member asked if anybody else wanted a suspension) and they folded when they realized powertripping wouldn't work on somebody that actually had authority to do something about it. lmfao

I go into bars IRL and tell them not to worry about my ID, because people can fake IDs, and proceed to tell them my age and date of birth instead. @eyeziiick

I've joined a lobby that told me I was lying about my birthday, all cause i was born in the 80s x-x

there's actually a clause in the TOS about collecting personal information like this, although it does say without consent, but surely this could count to some extent if you're being singled out for declining to share your information ?

Ever since the bouncer system existed over at my bar, it really did show how egotistical people can be, like very controlling. If you see some annoying child, kick them from the instance, you can only do so much on a platform that's rated T (which is still crazy to me).

The few times I've entered a public bar and encountered this, I just say I'm like 2 years old and was born yesterday. P much every time if they can't take the joke and kick me, I wouldn't have wanted to be there to begin with. Like, I have my age on my profile and am verified.

I had caught a lot of kids who lied about their age through VRChat's age verification. And I took down an entire black market of over 30K accounts who had the fake verification badge on VRChat, and the group owner was arrested.

"You and the Group have been reported. NEXT!" Go home to steal their satisfaction, click through menu in under a minute to submit report, pick next instance, go about your day. They wouldn't change their minds over the words of all the people they'd kicked for arguing up to now.

For real like whenever I was doing bar instances I jsut let people in with verified on their profile automatically, if it turns out they lied we kick them it’s that simple. Obviously it’s different when they don’t have that but yea double age verification is is dumb

It's a problem with me, since I'm in my early 20s and still sound like I'm in high school. There's been few times where they don't believe me. It's sucks dealing with this, I could have meet other people that I could enjoy. Hopefully something could happen so this stops.

Seen a 16yo claim they were born in 2006 get let in meanwhile the age verified person gets kicked for not saying a date out loud. Always assume underage people are in these places.

Honestly if I ever join these groups and they do this shit it gives me a very good idea the experience I’m gonna have which is gonna be terrible

Double age verification is also called power abuse, and people have to understand how to deal with people who have the badge and the the others who doesnt.

I have joined a lobby got asked for my age stated I was verified they then tell me "I don't have time to check everyone's profile" when I was the only person there. Then when I stated again I was verified and they don't need to ask they called me a slur and kicked me. Peak VRChat

I once had a bouncer do the whole age and dob, shoot a group invite i will never join stuff, and let me in after i flashed my verification; Then they screen a kid who IS UNDERAGED, and THEY LET THEM IN ANYWAY?! All they did was not give them a group invite

lol yeah we all know it's stupid. No one is being forced to do it tho- You can't use logic with people that actually think asking for a birthdate is more efficient than 3rd party verification. I always give them a fake birthdate anyways.

I never play bar instances or anything like that. There’s always uptight assholes who run the server like a damn police state. I play games to chill and relax, not to spill every last detail about myself to a stranger.

I get the reason but not the process. The age verification has been bypassed ever since it came out. Also sucks that some groups won't let you in unless you show them your government ID. You're just some random person on the internet I don't wanna show you my ID or birth certif.

Them: "Age and DOB" Me: "I'm age verified" (Through mic) Them: "Oh that can be faked, kids could be using your account" Me: "Do I literally sound like I'm a fucking kid?" -They look at eachother for a solid three secs- Them: "Yeah you can come in" VRC people are as dumb as rocks

You know what, you make a hell of a lot sense, and yes, it is kind of stupid to have it TWICE, I mean sure, I am age verified, but come on, when a group-instance goes online, and it is required to have "AGE VERIFICATION" on it, you get in if you are age verified, SO STOP ASKING

so people forget vrc+ age verify actual exist can drop that 3 times age verify how far has to repeat same show you ID practices just get join one single lobby. not the mention vrc age verify has persona straight sell people ID and has history data leak expose a lot ID

I have my DOB displayed in my bio anyways just to give people a heads up of how old I am. One time a 'bouncer' asked me my DOB, but not only that, he has me repeating my DOB so he can put it in a DOB calculator while I was standing there. It was 2025, my DOB was in 2005.

I've encountered groups the demand I give them me real id through discord. Like bruh I'm not giving you that.

I mean, if you don't feel comfortable sharing your real birthdate, just give them a random one. It's not like they can verify it anyway.

Me and a friend joined a lobby that wasn't age restricted but still had someone at the door asking for ages and dates of birth (why not just make the instance age gated) and when we both just said "we're age verified" we got told they didn't care so we clowned on them and left

Why do you need me to say my date of birth I'm age verified it says I'm 18 on my profile? Then they normally spell there power trip type beat then I hit them with the "Aww man you got me I'm like 2 months old"
