Dr. Russell Barkley just explained ADHD in a way that flips everything parents think they know: It's a delay in the brain's 5 core executive functions—all rooted in the frontal lobe: 1. Ability to stop (inhibit impulses) 2. Use visual imagery (mental rehearsal) 3. Use the mind's voice (internal...

ADHD isn’t an “attention deficit.” It’s a profound developmental disorder of self-regulation. Dr. Russell Barkley (one of the world’s leading ADHD researchers) explains why the name “ADHD” has done massive damage: - It trivializes a condition as serious as autism, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder. - It makes people think “just drink coffee and focus” — when the real issue is far deeper. The core problem isn’t just distractibility. It’s three interlocking executive deficits: 1. Persistence toward the future — inability to stay motivated by delayed rewards 2. Resistance to distractions — constant derailment by immediate temptations 3. Working memory — struggling to hold goals, plans, and consequences in mind Together, these create a devastating impairment in self-regulation — the ability to consciously inhibit impulses, direct actions toward yourself (self-talk, self-monitoring), and align behavior with long-term welfare. Barkley: “This is not an attention problem. This is a disorder of self-regulation… as serious as manic depression, and in its own way, as autism.” Parents often hear “he’s just lazy” or “she needs to try harder.” The truth is far more compassionate and urgent: The child’s brain is developmentally behind in the very mechanisms that allow other kids to stop, think, plan, and protect their future selves. If we renamed it Self-Regulatory Developmental Disorder (SRDD), the conversation would change overnight. How many adults do you know who still struggle with exactly these same three deficits — and were never properly understood as kids?

Gabor Maté: The parts of you filled with hatred, addiction, and self-loathing all deserve compassion. They came along to protect you. Most of us treat our darkest inner states like enemies to be defeated. The shame, the compulsions, the voice that says you're not enough. We want to cut them out. Gabor Maté sees it differently. "The parts most filled with hatred, the parts that are addicted, the parts that are even full of self-loathing, they all deserve compassion. They all deserve to be held and understood. And they all came along for a reason." That reason, he explains, is survival. When a child isn't getting their needs met or worse, is being hurt, they face an impossible situation. They can make one of only two unconscious assumptions about their world. The first: this is a terrible world, I'm all alone, everybody is against me. The second: there is something wrong with me, and if I work hard enough, maybe I can fix it. Which one can a child actually live with? "To assume that the world is that dangerous is just unbearable for the child. It's also turning the anger towards the adults against yourself which is a lot safer. It's not very safe to be angry with your parents all the time when you're 2 years old." So the child chooses self-blame. It's the only assumption that gives them any sense of agency. If it's my fault, then maybe I can do something about it. That self-loathing voice was a coping mechanism. A piece of the psyche that stepped forward to make life bearable. The work, then, isn't to silence or destroy these parts. It's to finally see what they were trying to do and to offer them the understanding they never received.

[Talking about self-worth and insecurities] 👨🏻‍🚀: I want everyone who has ever felt like they weren't pretty, they weren't attractive, they weren't good looking, they weren't strong enough, they had insecurities, or that they might feel like they're exploding from overthinking. And I'm not talking about one of these six, i'm talking about all of them. If you have ever had a situation where felt all six of these, I want you guys to type 1 into the chat. 👨🏻‍🚀: So, the point of that experiment wasn't to invalidate what you're feeling, because you're valid for feeling that. I think that is a common human emotion that we all have a problem we're dealing with. Our insecurities are the things that make us lash out, make us feel like we're not enough. And the thing about it, is no matter how rich you are, no matter how handsome you are, no matter how pretty you are, no matter how strong you are, no matter how great you are, no matter how intelligent you are, no matter how competent you are, there's always gonna be moments where this comes to you and I think the best thing to think in this situation is that yes i'm feeling this things, to validate yourself. You're not wrong for feeling this way. There's nothing wrong with you. Everyone feels this. 👨🏻‍🚀: But, during those times, i think it is very important to remember the moments in your life where you did feel worthy. Where you felt like you were just enough for that one person that you're talking to. Or you felt like you aced in a certain exam or you did really well in one thing. I think you remember those moments and then you push on for more of those moments so that eventually, in your life, you stop thinking about things that- or situation that made you think you're not worthy and start pondering more , recycling more of things that made you feel worthy. yunamseng?

Welp here you go: Former Clinton Advisor breaks down “The Playbook” on how they destroy their opponents “Big corporations hire people like me to come inside and implement The Playbook. And here's the way The Playbook works: - First, they attack you broadly and they question your facts - They say you're lying and it's ferocious - But if you keep on moving after that, they move on to character assassination. They take on who you are as a person - They dig up everything bad in your past and leak it to the press. If you had a fender bender, you're a reckless driver. If you paid a bill late, you're a deadbeat. And so on and so on. - Every part of your life goes under their microscope - They try to embarrass you - They try to make you say, this fight isn't worth what it's costing me, and you quit But if that doesn't stop you, and it stops most people, but it didn't stop Bobby (Robert F Kennedy Jr), they say you're a liar. If liar doesn't work, they say you're an Antisem*te and a racist. Crazy or kook or crank or nut job are their mainstays. That's their nuclear option. Because if they can get everyone to dismiss you as a wacko nutjob, everything you say is suspect. If all the publications and TV shows you trust tell you someone's a crazy person, they must be a crazy person, right? This is New York magazine in 1995. This is New York magazine in 2023. This is Vanity Fair in 2006. This is Vanity Fair in 2020. This is Rolling Stone in 1992. This is Rolling Stone in 2023.” (All media propaganda for decades) Everything they do is a lie. This is criminal.

That doesn't. That doesn't matter anymore. You can win, but they still reserve the right to not show your video on the fyp - If you post a link, that can get your account banned completely. Not even a violation, just banned. “This is just crazy. This goes to, in fact, in effect September 13th. I think that's also when they're supposed to roll out the new TikTok for the United States. That'll probably have more rules than this one.”
