The World Bank has identified Nagpur as one of India's fastest-growing cities over the coming decade, underscoring the city's rapid infrastructure-led growth and future potential. As the city evolves into a globally competitive urban centre through world-class infrastructure and planned development, every effort will be made to ensure that its growth journey is backed by the resources needed to realise this vision without interruption. A truly future-ready city, is built not only through modern infrastructure but also by empowering the people who sustain it every day. A clean city is the foundation of a healthy society, and the dedication of sanitation workers is at the heart of that vision. Strengthening the workforce that keeps our cities clean, appointment letters were handed over to 579 candidates, including 476 sanitation workers appointed under the Lad-Page Committee recommendations and 103 candidates recruited through the direct recruitment process. Nagpur has also become the first municipal corporation in Maharashtra to introduce a free housing scheme for sanitation workers, providing 300 sq. ft. homes free of cost, with the option to avail larger homes by paying the additional construction cost.
