Building a Skilled Maharashtra for a Stronger Future! Inaugurated the Nagpur Skill Centre today along with Hon Union Minister Nitin Gadkari ji. Established through the collaboration of AID and Tata, the centre will equip youth with industry-oriented skills and create a future-ready workforce. Under the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi Ji, skill development has become a national priority. Maharashtra is further strengthening this vision through a dedicated Skill Development Department, ensuring closer collaboration between the government, industry and educational institutions to enhance employability. The state's expanding healthcare, solar energy, EV and alternate fuel sectors are creating significant demand for skilled professionals. Maharashtra has become the first state to supply agricultural power through a 16,000 MW Agri Solar network, with 2000 solar feeders expected to generate demand for at least 50,000 trained solar technicians. To prepare youth for emerging industries, the state is partnering with the Tata Group and Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University to provide training ranging from basic skills to advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Quantum. More skill centres will be established across Maharashtra to support continuous upskilling. Approval has also been granted to establish a state-of-the-art Skill University in Nagpur. The university will feature specialised schools in collaboration with leading corporates and expert institutions, ensuring students graduate with industry-ready skills and placement opportunities. With Nagpur and Vidarbha emerging as hubs for solar modules, EVs, coal gasification, carbon capture and steel manufacturing, the focus remains on creating a skilled local workforce. Maharashtra currently operates around 2500 Skill Development Centres, training nearly 4 lakh youth. According to the Skill India report, 75% of trainees have secured employment, with the target of increasing this to 90%. To further strengthen skill development initiatives, presided over the signing and exchange of an MoU between the Association of Industrial Development (AID) and the National Academy of Defence Production (NADP), Nagpur. A promise made in 2019 is now becoming a reality. Free houses for sanitation workers under the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Shramsafalya Awas Yojana reflect a commitment that remained unwavering despite changes to the Government Resolution. The beginning of this Yojana from Nagpur makes this occasion even more special, and the decision to name the colony after Maharshi Sudarshan Valmiki adds to its significance. Empowering Lives of People of Nagpur through Housing and Healthcare! It’s truly fulfilling when a promise made to the people becomes a reality before their eyes. In 2023, along with our leader, Hon Union Minister Nitin Gadkari ji, we performed the bhoomipujan of the ‘Swapna Niketan’ project. Today, it gives me immense pleasure to hand over 480 EWS houses under the PM Awas Yojana and inaugurate various development projects in Nagpur. In just 2 years, Gaurav Agrawal and his team delivered beautiful homes with solar systems, lifts, community halls and more — all at ₹9 lakh under PMAY. Under the PMAY, Maharashtra has received approval for 30 lakh homes in a year, giving 1.5 crore people the right to own a house. We’ve begun distributing ownership rights to slum dwellers, making them eligible for permanent housing support. In Nagpur, we’re improving transport with e-buses and metro services. Also, inaugurated a new fire station and a tree transplanting machine today. Under Hon PM Modi Ji’s vision, 123 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are sanctioned for Nagpur—83 are already running, and 27 more were launched today to deliver better healthcare. Directed officials to build at least 1,000 affordable homes in each of Nagpur’s six constituencies, and to develop a Signature Building Model for the health centres. We are committed to building a stronger, healthier, and more inclusive Maharashtra. Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, MoS Adv. Ashish Jaiswal and other dignitaries were present. A Sustainable Cow-Based Economy for Farmer Prosperity Attended the closing ceremony of 'Rajyamata Gomata Samvad Yatra 2026' in Nagpur today. The Government has taken several policy decisions to strengthen goshalas under the Maharashtra Goseva Aayog initiative, conserve indigenous cattle and promote a self-sustaining cattle welfare ecosystem. For our ancestors, gold and silver were not the true symbols of prosperity; rather, a prosperous and self-reliant agricultural civilisation was their true glory, and at the center of this entire system was our beloved Gomata. In our culture, Gomata has always been respected as a mother. Just as a mother continues to nurture and guide her family throughout life, the cow continues to serve society in countless ways. Conserving Gomata is essential for preserving our agricultural heritage, promoting natural farming and ensuring safe, chemical-free food for future generations. Building a resilient cow-based economy will help empower farmers and increase crop production. The Maharashtra Government remains committed to this vision through a comprehensive growth strategy for the livestock sector. MoS Adv. Ashish Jaiswal, MoS Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar, MP Mayatai Ivnate, Nagpur Mayor Neetatai Thakre, President of Maharashtra Goseva Aayog, Shekhar Mundada and other dignitaries were present. More Than a Step, A Journey Towards Confidence, Independence and Dignity! Glad to attend the free distribution and measurement of Jaipur Foot materials and assistive devices for people with orthopedic and hearing disabilities in Nagpur district today. Under the leadership of Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji, a new perspective towards persons with disabilities has taken shape. Divyangjan are special with their own abilities, aspirations and potential. An artificial limb is not just a device, it gives a person the confidence to walk again, ride a motorcycle, drive a car and return to everyday activities with greater independence and dignity. This is the real impact of empowerment, giving a person the confidence to overcome challenges and move forward in life. At the State level, various initiatives and welfare schemes are being implemented to provide meaningful support to Divyangjan. Government is committed to reduce their difficulties and will continue to provide financial assistance, along with various welfare schemes. Such camps focus on creating greater opportunities and providing the necessary equipment for employment of Divyangjan. Efforts are being made to prioritise them in housing and other government schemes. These camps should be organised regularly so that more beneficiaries can receive the support they need. Maharashtra’s Mission for Tiger Conservation and Environmental Sustainability Glad to be present at the event organised on the occasion of 'International Tiger Day 2026' in Nagpur today. For more than 30 years, tiger conservation has been one of our highest priorities. Tigers are found in only 13 countries and India is home to nearly 75% of the world's tiger population. Maharashtra has also done exceedingly well in tiger conservation and is home to 444 tigers across 6 tiger reserves today. This success is the result of continuous efforts by the government in protecting natural habitats, adopting scientific conservation practices and working closely with local communities. With our five-point conservation strategy and the collective efforts of all stakeholders, Maharashtra will continue to strengthen its conservation work and soon emerge as the leading state in tiger conservation. Congratulations to the Forest Department for its dedicated efforts. It is encouraging to see technology strengthening conservation, with AI-based early warning systems and camera monitoring helping reduce human-wildlife conflict, particularly in districts such as Nagpur. As the world faces climate change and growing environmental challenges, protecting our forests has never been more important. By protecting the tiger, we are preserving biodiversity and securing a healthier future for generations to come. Minister Ganesh Naik ji, MoS Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar, MoS Adv. Ashish Jaiswal, MLA Sumit Wankhede, Representatives from Bhutan, Cambodia, Bangladesh and other dignitaries were present.
