If a foreign government can slap a $140M muzzle on the largest free speech platform in the world, imagine what that means for your freedom of speech! ADF is supporting X in its challenge to the European Commission fine under the DSA. DSA doesn't stand for Digital Services Act. It stands for Delete. Silence. Abolish.

Today, the Digital Services Act — #DSA — becomes legally enforceable for Very Large Online Platforms & Search Engines. These systemic platforms play a very important role in our daily lives — so it was time for the EU to set our own rules. A safer Internet for everyone 🇪🇺

DSA-sopimus eli "The Digital Services Act package" tarkoittaa käytännössä EU-tason sensuuria somealustoille. Tämä, kuten muutkin sensuuriprojektit, lienevät alunperin ihan hyvää tarkoittavia hankkeita, mutta historia on osittanut, että kyseisen johtavat erinäisiin sananvapautta rajoittaviin järjestelmiin. Vai miltä sinusta kuulostaa suoraan virallisilta sivuilta seuraava lainaus: "The Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act aim to create a safer digital space where the fundamental rights of users are protected and to establish a level playing field for businesses." Ei kiitos, en halua "turvallista digitaalista tilaa", kuten en halua nykymääritelmän mukaisia turvallisia tiloja mihinkään muuallekaan. Alla Ivan Puopolo kertoo DSA-sopimuksesta pähkinän kuoressa:

The status quo for digital assets is absolutely unacceptable. It doesn't work for investors and it doesn't work for the industry. It's time to move forward and provide greater clarify to digital asset regulation. Full comments here 👇

🚨 The SAVE Act Is Coming—We Need It, But With a Crucial Amendment 🚨 I fully support the SAVE Act—it’s vital legislation. But as it stands, combined with the REAL ID Act, it paves the way for universal digital ID. Here’s the reality: • REAL ID expansion + SAVE Act = mandatory digital IDs to vote • This further enables track-and-trace for everyone ✅ We must pass the SAVE Act ⚠️ But we need an amendment to prevent universal digital ID from becoming a requirement It’s possible to protect voting integrity without creating a permanent digital tracking system. 📢 Speak up. Advocate for the amendment. Support the SAVE Act—but the right way.

🇪🇺 ELON’S X TAKES BRUSSELS TO COURT OVER DIGITAL SERVICES ACT FINE In December, the European Commission hit X with a €120 million fine under the Digital Services Act. First big penalty. First big flex. Now X is appealing. And this is where it gets interesting. The DSA allows Brussels to fine companies up to 6% of their global revenue. Not European revenue. Global. X argues the investigation was biased and stretched the law beyond its limits. Regulators do not get to rewrite platform rules for the entire planet. If Brussels wins, the DSA becomes a worldwide pressure tool. If X wins, it draws a line around how far EU regulators can reach.
