The cost is a drop in the ocean in the long run. Not doing this is not an option. Build it now.

Cost in 2018 was €3 billion. Longer we leave it, the more expensive it'll get. Not only should we build this, but seeing as it's taken over 20 years, we should look at multiple lines now, follow Madrid model. Invite @boringcompany to have a look?

We are in the middle of a climate crisis, by 2035 Dublin will be under water. The metro link should be built high up over all the existing buildings rather than underground where it will be constantly flooded.

Go and build it and raise a 40 or 50 year bond to pay for it. That is what sensible countries like Austria do. Keep these strategic projects out of the hands of vote grabbing and often inept politicians.

After seeing the debacle on the new children’s hospital I wouldn’t allow Irish government near a Lego set. The Metro position is outdated and under priced while causing untold disruption.

If Colm McCarthy thinks it's a bad idea, it will probably be great. I mean, he thought that the dart and luas would not work. How can anyone take his musings seriously?

Don't care how expensive it ends up being. Its desperately needed. Build it, admire it for a week and then start building more lines, do it quick before Eamon Ryan makes owning a car punishable by death
