We are grateful to the United States, to the President, Congress for their strong bipartisan support, and to all Americans. We discussed further support for Ukraine, particularly in strengthening air defenses. We have a significant need for antiballistic missiles due to the constant Russian attacks. I sent a letter to the White House and the U.S. Congress outlining Ukraine’s needs for such missiles. And today, I also personally handed this letter to the congressmen. We are counting on timely support. I briefed the congressmen on the frontline situation and on our successful long-range sanctions. Our partners clearly see that Russia is suffering enormous losses. It is important to prevent any weakening of sanctions against the Russian Federation – we discussed this as well. We are also working with the American side on concluding a Drone Deal. Particular attention was given to the negotiation process. There must be no pause in diplomacy, and talks must be reinvigorated. The whole world needs peace.

To ensure effective protection against daily Russian terror, Ukraine must be able to strike military targets on Russian territory. One format that could help make this possible is a meeting at the leaders’ level. I thank the Vatican for its readiness to host such a meeting and to continue making every effort to help make it happen. We discussed the work of the Church in Ukraine. We deeply value our clergy, who support both our warriors and civilians and help people endure these difficult times. We also discussed Ukraine’s path toward EU membership. Today's format was expanded – for the first time, representatives of the United States took part in our meeting, including General Kellogg, Senators Graham and Blumenthal. A total of 32 participants – heads and representatives of states, governments, and international organizations. I’m grateful for this level of engagement.
