Today, I discussed with the Prime Minister the development of defense cooperation and ways to increase pressure on Russia. I presented the Ukrainian interceptor drone OCTOPUS, which the United Kingdom will produce for further testing in Ukraine. The agreement provides for the production of the first batch. Strengthening sanctions policy must push Russia toward real negotiations. Recent partner sanctions packages are very important. We also coordinated our positions ahead of the Coalition of the Willing meeting — security guarantees for Ukraine, the strengthening of air defense, long-range capabilities, and energy resilience are the priority issues for the meeting.

We are grateful to the United States, to the President, Congress for their strong bipartisan support, and to all Americans. We discussed further support for Ukraine, particularly in strengthening air defenses. We have a significant need for antiballistic missiles due to the constant Russian attacks. I sent a letter to the White House and the U.S. Congress outlining Ukraine’s needs for such missiles. And today, I also personally handed this letter to the congressmen. We are counting on timely support. I briefed the congressmen on the frontline situation and on our successful long-range sanctions. Our partners clearly see that Russia is suffering enormous losses. It is important to prevent any weakening of sanctions against the Russian Federation – we discussed this as well. We are also working with the American side on concluding a Drone Deal. Particular attention was given to the negotiation process. There must be no pause in diplomacy, and talks must be reinvigorated. The whole world needs peace.

We deeply appreciate that all parties are united in their support for Ukraine. We discussed the consolidation of international support at the parliamentary level and the areas of our future cooperation. I informed the MPs on the diplomatic efforts to achieve peace, the vision for a future security architecture of Ukraine and Europe, and humanitarian efforts to bring our children home. I am grateful to the people of Norway for their assistance to Ukraine and to the Storting for its decision to allocate nearly $8 billion this year. This is truly a significant contribution to strengthening our nation.

Today, we have a new support package for Ukraine, and the most important element of it is the Swedish Gripen fighter jets, which will strengthen our air force. Overall, this year, next year, and our future cooperation are all about building Ukraine’s fleet of Swedish Gripens. This will help us guarantee the security of Ukraine and Ukrainians.
