When my kids started driving I told them no driving on the interstate until you pass one year of successful driving on the street. It works. No problems so far.

In about 72 hours, our officers were involved in crashes caused by drivers who never should have been behind the wheel. In one incident, a driver fell asleep behind the wheel. In another, an impaired driver traveled the wrong way through a neighborhood. Both crashes ended with our officers' vehicles being struck. Thankfully, everyone was ok. Every shift, our officers put themselves in harm's way to keep our roads and community safe. But reckless and impaired driving can turn a routine call into a life-threatening situation, not just for officers, but for everyone on the road. Your choices behind the wheel affect more than just you. Make the decision that gets everyone home safely.

After failing to stop for police, a driver led officers on a dangerous high-speed pursuit, driving on the wrong side of the road and putting members of the public at serious risk. Thanks to the skill, professionalism and bravery of our officers, the vehicle was brought to a safe stop and the driver arrested Every day, officers put themselves in harm's way to keep our roads safe. One reckless decision by a criminal behind the wheel can have lasting consequences.

105 miles per hour... in a 50 mile-per-hour zone. That's more than twice the speed limit. Unacceptable. On Thursday, August 6, Officer Reshawn Gelsey with our Traffic Enforcement Unit clocked this 26-year-old driver driving double the limit on the Arlington Expressway. It was a clear violation of Florida's super speeder law, and the traffic stop ended with the driver in handcuffs. He was arrested for Reckless Driving, Driving Over 100MPH, Resisting an Officer Without Violence, and Driving with a Suspended, Cancelled or Revoked License. The speed limit is not a suggestion. It's there to protect every driver, passenger, and pedestrian from getting hurt or killed. Drive safe, Duval.

When a driver fled from Port Orange Police Department, swerved through traffic, ran red lights and hit 118 mph up and down I-95, he put everyone on the road in danger. His reckless ride came to an end this morning when Mike Chitwood executed a P.I.T. maneuver and took him into custody. Christian Will Ottinot, 24, of Broward County, is charged with fleeing from law enforcement, reckless driving, and a Florida Super Speeder violation along with numerous criminal traffic citations.

This video shows our deputies conducting a traffic stop when a vehicle speeds past them without following Colorado’s Move Over Law. When deputies, or anyone, are stopped on the side of the road, they’re in harm’s way. Slowing down and moving over isn’t just common sense for keeping people safe, it’s the law. “Our deputies are honored to stand alongside the Colorado State Patrol in remembering Trooper Cody Donahue,” said Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly. “Being part of this operation isn’t just about enforcing the law; it’s about protecting the men and women who serve on our roadways every day. When drivers move over and slow down, they help ensure that tragedies like the one that took Trooper Donahue’s life are never repeated. We owe it to him, his family, and every roadside worker to keep safety at the forefront.” The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Colorado State Patrol, will be conducting extra traffic enforcement in Douglas County on November 26, 2025. This enforcement effort is in remembrance of Trooper Cody Donahue, Colorado State Patrol, who was tragically struck and killed in the line of duty while investigating a motor vehicle crash on I-25. The goal of this operation is to reinforce safe driving habits, ensure compliance with traffic laws, and remind motorists of the importance of the Slow Down, Move Over Law. Thank you for helping keep our roadways safe. Let’s honor Trooper Donahue by driving responsibly.

Operation Southern Slow Down is underway, and OPD officers are conducting increased traffic enforcement throughout the week to reduce speed-related crashes and improve roadway safety. Throughout the week, officers will be proactively patrolling Orlando's roadways, enforcing speed limits to help reduce speed-related crashes. If you encounter emergency vehicles stopped on the roadside with their lights activated, remember to move over and give them space to work. Every decision behind the wheel matters. Slow down, stay focused, and help keep our roads safe.

RECKLESS! On Monday, December 1, around 12:30 a.m., AIR5 spotted a reckless driver on US 95 at Charleston. The light-colored sedan was traveling at speeds between 120 and 140 miles per hour, weaving dangerously close to cars and passing on the shoulder. The vehicle was seen sparking at some points while Air 5 tried to keep up with the dangerous speeds. As you can see from this helicopter video, this could have ended in tragedy. One of our patrol officers spotted the vehicle and pulled it over on the southbound I-15 ramp from US 95. Behind the wheel was an 18-year-old who showed signs of impairment. The car also had a 16, 17, and another 18-year-old inside. Dangerous, deadly, and downright dumb. The driver was arrested, and the car was impounded. We are cracking down on dangerous driving, from the air and on the ground. So far, 148 people killed on roads within our jurisdiction in 2025. Event: LLV251200000100

This week, the #OPP is conducting aerial traffic enforcement and monitoring roadways with our Cessna plane, equipped with Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) cameras. The focus of enforcement activities will be on motorcyclist (and other driver) behaviours that put everyone at risk such as speeding, aggressive driving and following too close. Remember, #RoadSafety is a shared responsibility.

On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, Sheriff Waters and the Director of Patrol and Enforcement, Mark Romano, watched a driver toss a cheeseburger wrapper out of his car. Moments later, the driver then tossed a full fast-food bag out the window and onto the road. Not on our watch. Littering isn’t just disrespectful, it’s illegal. Yes, the sheriff’s SUV has lights. Yes, the Sheriff will use the lights if he feels the need to. Director Romano called for a nearby sergeant to help write the report and issue this teen driver a fine. Don’t be trashy: littering comes with a fine ranging from $150 to more than a $1,000 with the potential for jail time. Our city is beautiful, and it takes all of us working together to keep it that way. Don’t litter, drive carefully, and make good choices; you never know who might pull you over.

Over the weekend, more tragedy on our roads. Because of one person’s reckless and selfish decision to drive impaired and run a red light, a baby’s life was stolen. A mother will never know the warmth of holding her child. A family will carry this pain for the rest of their lives, all because someone thought their convenience was more important than another’s life. This is not just another “accident.” It is preventable. Every impaired driver on the road is making a choice that can destroy lives in an instant. 👉 Our call to action is clear: • Don’t drive impaired. • Step up. Take the keys, call a ride, stop a friend before they make this choice. • Share this message. Choose responsibility. Choose life. #TrafficSafety #EndImpairedDriving #SaveALifeEvenIfItsYours #VisionZero

On Monday, one of our motor officers stopped a driver on Main Street for using an electronic device while driving. We’re used to seeing a cell phone in someone’s hand, but this driver decided to level up, holding a tablet with both hands while behind the wheel. The driver was fined $368. The ticket also comes with four demerit points. Your text, email, or next scroll can wait until you reach your destination. Keep both hands where they belong and your eyes on the road. #ArriveAlive

This is exactly why reckless e-bike riding is a serious public safety concern. A juvenile rider chose to flee from deputies through a residential neighborhood, reaching speeds and taking risks that endangered everyone nearby. Riding carelessly, the rider narrowly avoided crashing into a fence that could have resulted in serious injury. Too often, riders treat e-bikes like toys. They are not. E-bikes can travel at high speeds and, when operated recklessly, become a danger to pedestrians, motorists, and the riders themselves. If a deputy attempts to stop you, stop. Running from law enforcement is not a game, and it is not without consequences. Intentionally fleeing from deputies can result in felony eluding charges or other criminal and traffic offenses. Our deputies are committed to keeping our neighborhoods safe and safety is a shared responsibility. Parents, know where your children are riding and talk with them about following traffic laws and respecting law enforcement. One poor decision can change a life forever. Ride responsibly.

Shared by - Nirmeet I’m a resident of Mumbai currently based in Pune. I travel a lot on the Mumbai-Pune expressway and encounter many rash drivers, especially at night. I was travelling in a cab to Mumbai on 30th Oct at around 9pm when I noticed that the driver slowed down the car very abruptly, it was because of the driver of this red i10 who was visibly drunk. He was swerving lanes and almost crashed into us and another car. When we overtook him, he started driving even more dangerously and came ahead of our car started showing the finger and almost made us come to a halt. Luckily there wasn’t much traffic on that stretch of road and our driver was quite aware so we could get away from him. But his driving was highly dangerous and reckless. I hope you show this on your channel to make people aware of drunk drivers like him. #driveresponsibly

🚨 Move Over, It’s the Law! 🚨 The guy in the white car apparently didn't get the message. Last Thursday in Highlands Ranch, our deputies were conducting a traffic stop when a driver failed to follow Colorado’s Move Over Law. The driver didn’t even attempt to shift over, putting our deputies and everyone else on the road at risk. This took place right in the middle of "Crash Responder Safety Week" and days before the anniversary of CSP Trooper Cody Donahue, who was hit and killed while working a crash on Interstate 25 near Castle Rock. Colorado law requires drivers to move over a lane or significantly reduce speed when approaching stopped emergency vehicles with flashing lights. This law is in place to protect first responders who are working on our roadways—often in already dangerous conditions. Please, when you see those lights, move over or slow down. It’s not just a courtesy; it’s the law. Deputy Montgomery wrote the driver a ticket for careless driving and failing to move over for emergency responders. He also arrested the driver for an outstanding warrant.

It was just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday when the first call came in saying a man was driving recklessly and yelling at people near 20thand Broadway. It only got worse. Another call came in saying the driver had struck another car with his vehicle and left the scene. A caller said the driver could be seen drinking from a beer bottle while driving. As officers searched the area, a call came in saying the car was on the bike path and had almost hit a cyclist. Thankfully Officer Baddley spotted the vehicle a short time later on Baseline Road and coordinated with Officer West to safely stop the driver from going anywhere else. Officers could smell alcohol on the driver, and his blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit. He was arrested and booked into the jail on two misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence, misdemeanor hit and run, misdemeanor reckless driving, resisting arrest, failure to present evidence of insurance, and felony vehicular eluding. As in every criminal case, suspects are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty. We’re glad this incident didn’t have a worse outcome as it easily could have. There’s no excuse to drive impaired. You risk the lives of yourself and everyone around you. Our officers have stepped up their efforts to find impaired drivers and have made more DUI arrests so far this year than previous years due to a variety of factors. It’s sad that one of those factors is that some people think it’s okay to drink and drive. It. Is. Not. We will find and arrest you.

In a decisive move to maintain order on Lagos roads, LASTMA has stepped up enforcement against illegal parking and road obstructions in notorious traffic hotspots like Idumota, Ijora, Oyingbo, and Adeniji Adele. Several commercial and private vehicles were impounded as operatives tackled reckless driving, one-way violations (particularly on Carter bridge), and makeshift garages disrupting traffic flow. This operation reflects LASTMA’s commitment to restoring order on our roads. The crackdown continues, indiscriminate parking and lawlessness will no longer be tolerated in Lagos. Our goal remains clear: safe, free-flowing roads for all. Babajide Sanwo-Olu

POTHOLES EVERYWHERE! Every thud of your wheel in a pothole is a reminder of how far Victoria has fallen. Victoria’s pothole epidemic is a consequence of what happens when a state runs out of money. With over $200 billion in debt, Victoria has simply squandered the resources it needs to keep our roads safe and our essential services operating to protect our community. It does not need to be this way – we need leaders with a plan to fix our roads and get out of the hole we are in as a state. Join us and support our work.
