Earlier this week, Constable Sorbara stopped a driver on Centennial Parkway who was travelling 147km/hour instead of the posted 70km/hour speed limit. The 17-year-old driver has now had their driver's licence suspended, their vehicle impounded, and some hefty fines to deal with. Slow down, save lives!

RECKLESS! On Monday, December 1, around 12:30 a.m., AIR5 spotted a reckless driver on US 95 at Charleston. The light-colored sedan was traveling at speeds between 120 and 140 miles per hour, weaving dangerously close to cars and passing on the shoulder. The vehicle was seen sparking at some points while Air 5 tried to keep up with the dangerous speeds. As you can see from this helicopter video, this could have ended in tragedy. One of our patrol officers spotted the vehicle and pulled it over on the southbound I-15 ramp from US 95. Behind the wheel was an 18-year-old who showed signs of impairment. The car also had a 16, 17, and another 18-year-old inside. Dangerous, deadly, and downright dumb. The driver was arrested, and the car was impounded. We are cracking down on dangerous driving, from the air and on the ground. So far, 148 people killed on roads within our jurisdiction in 2025. Event: LLV251200000100

Detectives say Sierra Whittaker was driving the white Porsche Panamera and was traveling almost 100 miles per hour when she crashed into 25-year-old Emerson Gonzalez-Escobar, killing him.

The trio, two females and a male, 24-year-old Constable Cebekhulu Linda(male), 30-year-old Constable Keamogetswe Buys (female) and 20-year-old Constable Boipelo Senoge (female) were travelling in a white VW polo sedan from Bloemfontein to their area of deployment in Limpopo when they went missing. Their last known location was at the Engen garage near the Grasmere toll plaza on the N1 on Wednesday, 23 April 2025. Their vehicle tracking device and cellphones have been off since the day of their disappearance. Their vehicle registration number is JCL 401 FS. A 24 hour Venue Operational Centre (VOC) has been established and a full scale search is underway with a high level team of detectives and crime intelligence operators from Gauteng and the Free State have been mobilised to find them. The members were off duty at the time and did not make it to their area of deployment. Anyone who may have information on their whereabouts is encouraged to call the investigating officer, Captain Chaacha Manga on 082 527-6099.
