Eric Rohmer on the use of Colour in "La Collectionneuse" (1967) and "Claire's Knee" (1970): "I didn't use color as a dramatic element, as some filmmakers have done. For me it's something inherent in the film as a whole. I think that in 'La Collectionneuse' (1967) color above all heightens the sense of reality and increases the immediacy of the settings. In this film color acts in an indirect way; it's not direct and there aren't any color effects, as there are for example in Bergman's most recent film, his second one in color, where the color is very deliberately worked out and he gets his effects mainly by the way he uses red. I've never tried for dramatic effects of this kind, but. for example, the sense of time-evening, morning, and so on-can be rendered in a much more precise way through color. Color can also give a stronger sense of warmth, of heat, for when the film is in black-and-white you get less of a feeling of the different moments of the day, and there is less of what you might call a tactile impression about it. In 'Claire's Knee' (1970), I think it works in the same way: the presence of the lake and the mountains is stronger in color than in black-and-white. It's a film I couldn't imagine in black-and-white. The color green seems to me essential in that film, I couldn't imagine it without the green in it. And the blue too-the cold color as a whole. This film mould have no value for me in black-and-white. It's a very difficult thing to explain. It's more a feeling I have that can't be reasoned out logically." An interesting short that doesn't get talked about that much: Ub Iwerks' SKELETON FROLIC (1937), a color twist on his SKELETON DANCE animation for Disney back in 1929. It's not as classic as the original, but the colors and animation are quite nice and it's good spooky fun.

My take on Searle's Chinese Room: It's just milking a misleading visual metaphor. If you *actually* visualize what's going on in that room, the guy is using the book to process information at lightspeed, much like the operation of an H100 GPU or a brain.

I was just messing around with the animation, then I noticed that the swimming animation would leave the ripple effect behind, and you can change the size of it, too And of course, you can do this even on a land surface (Imagine a scene with you standing on land, but have a water ripple effect, something like that) Also, in this video, I just learn how to use the sky environment It's really helped me a lot to find the perfect cloud and sky color And I'm really proud of what the final picture has turned into #GPOSER #GPOSERS

My Tesla model S was the victim of an attempted deering this morning. Had just left the grocery store and it was still dark ~0615hrs. I saw a slight flash out of the corner of my right eye and hit the brakes right as the collision alert started blaring. It doesn't look as close as I think it was but it felt like the left front of my car could have touched the tail had I been even a second slower in reacting. As an aside editing video on a desktop browser doesn't seem to let you clip things. Go to 0:50s or so in the below video if you want to see the attempted Tesla killer
