Let's build the next character for the team! I’m continuing to test the modular character setup in UEFN using the Metahuman Component. Works really well with custom NPCs! For this new character, I'm back to a fresh 3D workflow using AssetHub . Still aiming for that flat/ anime style so I can go straight to the Tripo P1 model and get the low poly textured meshes to work with. Assembling and rigging are done in Blender. Again making a shape key for the eyes blinking. Because I'm going to use the same bone structure, I can re-use some Control Rig systems like the hair and eyes procedural animations. The character has 35K triangles and each accessory is about 2.5K.

img2threejs 1.5.1 is out 🚀 Checkout: This release introduces a new approach to image → 3D → Three.js. Image → Tripo → img2threejs → reconstructed geometry → Three.js Instead of using the generated 3D model as the final asset, img2threejs uses it as a reference to rebuild the character into a representation that can be generated and rendered directly in Three.js. No Blender workflow, and no GLB required as the final output. The animation in the demo is still a bit rough because this release is focused on reconstruction, not animation. I’ll be improving that in the next release. Still experimental, but this is a big step toward where I want img2threejs to go.

Been playing with a character consistency workflow again. This came from Nexora that starts with a single GPT Image 2.0 character sheet and turns it into a multi-shot cinematic sequence in Seedance 2.0. One thing I added to the workflow: I first comped the character, environment, and visual style together in Midjourney before bringing everything into GPT Image 2.0 to build the character sheet. I also pushed it a bit further by generating multiple characters, destinations, and art directions at the same time, then turning those into production-style character sheets and shot sequences. It's interesting how much consistency you can get from a single well-defined character board when the visual language, wardrobe, and environment are established upfront. this is the workflow for 90% of the assets i create for myself or for clients - start in a diffusion model to get the best aesthetics - bring it into a multimodal model (Nano Banana Pro) in Higgsfield to create a second frame and/or fix details - use a high quality video model that supports start and end frames (Kling 3.0 Omni in Higgsfield) to create a sick shot in <60 seconds model literacy and knowing which ones to grab and when is one of the biggest turning points I see in AI practices. it starts to feel more like another language instead of a black box that you are always just gambling on
