Eh... It's actually because the object falling is heavier than the air. Gravity doesn't exist, there's nothing pulling us to the ground other than natural physics of density and buoyancy

If electrostatics was the cause, we would see things rise depending on their charge. We mostly don't (there is spider ballooning they just stay off the ground).
