I've been struck lately by how our understanding of the QFT vacuum has remained conceptually stagnant despite its centrality to the theory. The transition from QM to QFT fundamentally transformed the vacuum from a "nothing" state to a complex structured entity with non-trivial topology and excitation modes. Yet we often treat it merely as a computational device rather than the fundamental substrate from which particles emerge. On a related note: are you familiar with the work of @PeterMorganQF ?

Somewhat, but I need to be more acquainted with it.

He obviously can't prove it, however it is indeed an interesting direction since gravity seems always connected to thermodynamics.

How is this captured in geometric unity? Hmmmmm

As we know, gravity found an explanation in the maximum extension of the principle of relativity, now called the General Theory of Relativity. So, if gravity is not fundamental, then neither is the principle of relativity. And if the principle of relativity is not fundamental, then the same could be said for the principle of conservation of matter, the principle of least action... and all the other principles. In the end, if physics were left without all its principles, the question would arise: What does the word "fundamental" even mean? And could physics be called a "fundamental science" in that case?

I have worked with a fairly similar idea. if the inverse square law applies to light, radiative heat, gravity and electromagnetism this definitely hints at a deeper connection between information theory and gravity.

The ancient knew of it and displayed the knowledge as Cadeusus. The entwined serpents symbolized "illumination" The rod as far as I can tell could be dark energy. Also torsion is implicated
