The tiger problem is the whole game. Witness Theory adds one more level: the system that chooses which level to operate at. Not atoms, not tigers. The thing that switches between them. That's where gradient descent becomes self-aware of its own abstraction stack.

The mistake is thinking emergence means unexplained, properly framed. Emergence: Emergence is the macroscopic expression of microscopic admissibility. Emergent structures are allowed, stable, and recoverable under the governing law of covariant continuity of constraints. Concepts are one thing, facts another.

@dela3499 Never occurred to me, until thinking about “levels of systems”just now, that you couldn’t have an explanation of explanatory universality (consciousness, which we don’t have yet) before a universal explainer. In this case the chicken must come before the egg, so to speak?

"nature loves to hide" as equivelancy classes which may be indexed from superposition of degrees of freedom measured on the chaos or probablistic side of the randomness /chaos equation reveall deeper necessities of which say the Mach holism is debatable as the very equivelancy classes of UV and IR cutoffs relative AdS/CFT are for example "exact equivelancy" and here then you see the very definitions over certitude will no longer be where they first started out.

@dela3499 Ken Wilber probably proposed one of the best frameworks to 'meditate' 'holons' in a spiritual/poetic and philosophically sophisticated manner.

If conventional science uses eliminativism, are we eliminating phenomena that are effectively ontologically independent of the underlying substrate? As in, if biology is reducible to chemistry and chemistry is reducible to physics, then fine, we should be studying physics and working our way back up again to the higher order taxonomies, but if at those higher orders, it could have been otherwise at the lower levels, then the disciplines might be said to be legitimately distinct.

The higher-level patterns frame (working the regularity without constantly dropping to the lower-level parts) is the clearest description I’ve seen of what I’ve been testing with AI using it to operate on state and manifestation at the emergent layer instead of the granular one.. arrived at it as an artist/layman through direct self-work rather than theory.. curious if that direction resonates at all with how you’re thinking about these systems?

Complexity born from simplicity = emergence Higher dimensional order is canonical and hieretical no emergence because it's strict math An observer views of higher or lower dimensional disorder are observer effect not emergence Mutation requires KV like only V - Valence up or down is more or less emergent Evolution and coevolution, are order bound by lineage at least my definitions of these at there core and how I don't think there is a wire between I believe they are all subsystems that require undeniably in my mind the observer before any can have any measurable effect That is where meta observation and it's learning pattern force intelligence to be aware of all them measure them fail with trying to understand them and trying again Quantum/Trad dimensionality I don't think links to emergence at all 🤷 Just my humble opinion and great video explaining the books and great authors too 💙

@dela3499 As a layman, if I take Roy Herbert's theory of time and apply it logically, as a hydrodynamic superfluid to the emergence of reality, then I cannot extract the whimsical, I cannot go back in time, create other worlds, or change what has occurred. It's a real world theory IMOP.
