Intended for emergency use only. Use of this feature will damage your vehicle and the Supercharger. Deliberate misuse will invoke additional penalties.

Latest software update needed (2026.38.3). Pre 2021 Model S/X not supported. Applies to US Superchargers only for now.

Is this on all superchargers? Or does this require new hardware on them?

I've been advocating for this on my podcast, be it via you guys buying EVject or coming up with your own solution. Looks like you've done the latter. This is great!

So very glad this feature is shipping now! That incident a few months ago with the gunman near the supercharger was pretty spooky. Glad we don’t need adapters anymore

Thank you Tesla for addressing this safety risk. Although very small, having tools available to mitigate that risk is worth everything

What is all that water gushing out of the charger?

Tesla Charging's profile picture
Tesla Charging3 days ago

Glycol, which Tesla will clean up as part of the mandatory service visit to the Supercharger after the damage is incurred

Hopefully I never need to use this feature 😬. Great to know it’s there.

This is wonderful. I’m grateful for Tesla’s care for our well-being and safety. I also have the @EVject product and assume we could use both if needed, especially when the EVject isn’t on and you might need to drive away. Thank you for all your work with the community and for making safety here for all❤️

Thank you. We all saw what happen to those poor Tesla people in Idaho and true to the Tesla way you all actively and quickly take actions to prevent other similar tragedies from happening again. Thank you so much.

Imo they should bill me if I use this I’d happily pay it. Safety is worth the price.

Unfortunately, so many rules in our world are derived and written in blood. Great feature.

Yes

Very nice. In addition to this, I saw one safety issue of a person trying to escape a situation but @Tesla_AI prevented them from accelerating due to hitting the attackers perceived as pedestrians. Can this be addressed as well.

can't believe it took a shooting for Tesla to finally roll this out, people have been asking for this forever

Better to have this functionality and not use it than to not have it and need it. Thank you!

Who pays for this part?

Sean VDR's profile picture
Sean VDR3 days ago

I’ve seen dashcam videos on @WhamBaamX where in emergency situations, obstacle aware acceleration or pedestrian avoidance features have hindered escapes. This feature should maybe be able to temporarily disable that stuff? For example, if someone is standing in front of your car with a gun pointed at you, you might need to not only break away from the charger, but may need to drive into the person (or car if it’s blocking you in).
