Apparently the only thing standing between us and a socialist Utopia is the AI data centers!

We need to embrace innovation, but we have to do it in a way that doesn’t harm North Carolinians. Data centers should bring their own clean power and pay for their own energy, not leave families paying higher electricity bills because of data centers’ energy demands. I’m proud to have eliminated data center tax breaks for energy usage, and now we need to tackle the rest.

The renewable energy company Panthalassa says it has a solution to the proliferation of AI data centers, which consume massive amounts of energy and are the cause of increased carbon pollution: sea-based data centers, powered by wave energy. David David Pogue examines what Panthalassa's alternative to land-based data centers may mean.

🚨WATCH: The push for green energy is running head first into the push for data centers. Spotsylvania County, Virginia is home to the largest solar panel development east of the Rockies. But despite its large 6,300+ acre footprint, it doesn’t provide enough power for one large data center complex in Loudoun County. Loudoun County has more than 200 data centers, and Virginia has more than 600 data centers. More data centers are on the way.

Data centers = jobs Data centers = affordability Data centers = growth that outpaces our debt Data centers = infrastructure & schools Data centers = prosperity Stop data center projects in America. We decline & our adversaries take the wheel. Welcome them & America thrives.

When it comes to data centers, Michigan should show the country how to do it right. That means: Data center companies, not Michigan families, pay for their own energy and grid upgrades – so rates don't go up. Data centers can't harm our water, air, or environment. Data centers pay their fair share in taxes to fund our schools, roads, and communities. Data centers are built with local union labor.

You’re paying more in energy bills than data centers themselves.

GOOGLE CEO: DATA CENTERS IN SPACE WILL HARNESS THE SUN’S POWER Sundar laid out a vision straight from science fiction, building Google’s future data centers in orbit to capture near-limitless solar energy: “How do we one day have data centers in space so we can better harness the energy from the sun? That’s a hundred trillion times more energy than what we produce on Earth today. In 2027, we’ll take the first step, sending tiny racks of machines aboard satellites to test them out and start scaling. A decade from now, this will be seen as a normal way to build data centers.” Source: Fox, Sundar Pichai

We can't afford to stop building data centers. But we can't build data centers without the citizens' approval. That's why we're proud to support the Ratepayer Protection Pledge Codification Act. Data Centers: - Cover every dime of energy costs. - Build American and hire American. Aiden Buzzetti explains:

ASML CEO on Elon Musk's Data Centers in space and Terafab: "I think you need a certain amount of data centers and they will be in space, they will be on the earth. I think the discussion about data centers in space is to address another potential bottleneck in the ecosystem, which is energy. I think the discussion around putting data center in space is there because if you do that, the energy consumption or the energy availability will be there, about trying to solve another potential big issue, which is energy for data center. I think the Terafab is an example of a major fab project."

Why do large data centers in the US have very few occupied parking slots once the data center is functional? Because while data centers are extremely resource hungry, they create very few jobs.

The US Department of Energy mapped out all of the current data centers, data centers under construction & data centers currently in the planning stages. We’ve heard for years how vulnerable our grid is. Now we are supposed to believe that it can withstand all of this new demand?
