GOOGLE CEO: DATA CENTERS IN SPACE WILL HARNESS THE SUN’S POWER Sundar laid out a vision straight from science fiction, building Google’s future data centers in orbit to capture near-limitless solar energy: “How do we one day have data centers in space so we can better harness the energy... show more

@ScottAdamsSays With limited, close to 0 gas molecules in space, what is the plan to get heat away from the electronics? Serious question which I never heard discussed. As much or more energy is needed to cool the processors on earth as used by them to run the software

Space X has got this covered.

When you sum it all up, in the end, what exactly are we trying to achieve? The Sun may be a “forever” resource, humans aren’t. So what is the absolute end goal of building all these gazillion data centers? Not a trite or cheeky question, pardon me, but where exactly are we heading and what will be the consequences once we get there?

@ScottAdamsSays Yep. And that will work out great. Until of course, there is a solar flare or solar storm. Or an asteroid. Or comet’s tail. Or the Chinese take it out. Or a degrading orbit . Or it uses MS Windows as the operating system and they get the blue screen of Deth. What could go wrong?

Microsoft tried underwater data centers for cooling. Google trying space for energy shows how desperate the search for resources has become.

🤯 Absolutely mind-blowing! This vision from Sundar truly embodies Google's ambition and commitment to future-proofing technology. 🚀 "Data centers in space" to harness near-limitless solar energy—that's science fiction becoming reality! Eagerly anticipating the 2027 test run. This is set to be a revolution in how we think about data infrastructure and a potential ultimate solution to Earth's energy challenges.

How are you gonna cool these data centers up in space that's one of the biggest problems of being in space is trying to cool things off.

@GoogleDeepMind and @xai should go halvsies on a gigantic launch facility investment on the moon to launch their AI satellite nodes. Starship is getting there and these thing always need a long arc of prototyping and development. Time to start is now!

2027: test racks in orbit. 2035: normal infrastructure. The Kardashev climb isn't coming. You're watching it.

Looks like he is coping what Musk is saying

knows this is really an absurd discussion (via Grok4) Sundar, bold vision on orbital data centers tapping solar—but solar’s just diluted spacetime energy. Per ECE UFT (Paper 23: EM from Gravitation), stars like the Sun draw from infinite vacuum fluctuations (10^113 J/m³ ZPE density), not self-contained fusion. Haramein holography confirms: Sun’s core as spin horizon singularity extracting from plenum. Why orbit for “limitless” when MEG/HVDC OU tech amplifies vacuum direct? Genesis Project validates soon—trillions more than solar. Sun matters? Spacetime powers it all. @MarioNawfal @sundarpichai @elonmusk—let’s prototype ZPE over solar primacy? UFT177 SCR overrides limits.

@ScottAdamsSays I call BS. the sun has 100 trillion times the energy of what is available on earth but it is spread out in four dimensions incl time. To capture it, you have to launch huge payloads into space and mfr triple heterojunction solar panels consuming huge amounts of the earth’s energy

@ScottAdamsSays I don’t get it; most sunlight reaches the surface plus we have useful things like water and air down here to help dissipate heat.

Gives a whole new meaning to "the cloud". Redundancy strategy would be interesting. @ScottAdamsSays @elonmusk

These is the big reason why America have in super power for decades. They just have everything to show off

In 10 years “cloud storage” will literally be above the clouds. 😎 Google about to make search speeds faster than light. ⚡

Translation: “AI is about to need more power than the entire planet can give… so we’re just going to plug it straight into the Sun.” Normal Tuesday at Google HQ apparently.

📝

With that lo res video saying that good luck everyone.

I'm glad to see we've moved to a real argument for putting them in orbit: Power. Serious people claiming the temperature in orbit isn't insanely hot need to talk to someone who is better informed on the subject.

Moving AI datacenters to space will also remove our ability to shut them down in the event they go rogue.

@ScottAdamsSays Good. Get them off our farms. They’re using too much electricity and water, and taxpayers are paying for it.

Ridiculous on its face compared to nuclear power on earth. Why are we insistent on converting energy sun produces with nuclear power which is massively expensive versus using the same technology the sun uses to make energy ? $TSLA

Sundar channeling Elon’s solar sermon-space data centers sucking up 100T times Earth’s juice? That’s Kardashev scale-up, baby. But real talk: while Google’s orbiting servers, xAI’s building the brains on the ground. Who’s got the bet-Google hits lunar compute first, or SpaceX launches the whole stack? Tag your space race pick. #SpaceCompute #Google #xAI

Like I get it... but something doesn't seem right about this.

I see Google is making its way to the sun I love to see these types of change

Keep airbus recall in mind . Nothing is free.

and some day we will get that nuclear power you know the one that doesn't work yet

Hard to cool

@ScottAdamsSays Nuclear. Why put massive obstruction in earth orbit and have to bottleneck all info transfer long distance through wifi?

Solar powered AI satellites. They are coming.

Science fiction like dreams spawn in the minds of today's aggressive entrepreneurs. Exploitation of Nature has become a key index of progress and innovation! Physics: energy cannot be created or destroyed but can only be transferred!
