But how did they drill for the anchors if they couldn’t drill for the concrete posts

I promise you that after building this wonder, there was no commissioning ceremony and no billboard with the governors face on it on the bridge. Folks just do work with public money and quietly go away after their tenure.

I live in Seattle and I have been driving in this floating bridge everyday for 18 years

Na coastal road naija dey suffer to build.

I love engineering projects like this

Archimedes principle?

We got something in common, after my love for managing disc jockeys, next is documentary on extreme engineering. Nice

If it's working. It must be Engineering.

so, they could find hard ground to fix anchor for steel cables but not for foundational pier?? seems like they just wanted to save cost..

Engineering genius..

The most fascinating part is the mathematics & physics behind this. Fluid Dynamics, Strength of Materials etc 🥰

Then they put tracks and a light rail train on one!

I marvel anytime I drive on it 😗

So it’s floating because of UPTHRUST

@grok true

I love this shit so much

This is so dope

mastery of culture and adaptaion

Wow! Impressive!!!

That’s dope

Engineering be like witchcraft 🧹

This is brilliant

@grok Is this true? And, what's the name of the bridge?

Damnnnn

So the anchors cant move but if you built support beams they might move. Interesting.

Western Washington has 3 floating bridges: Hood Canal Bridge (l) I-90 (ur) 520 (lr)
