I suggest they install drop nets; something like this. But for now they are working under very risky conditions.

As an engineer, I see no safety measures for workers on that project site. Even a person who knows nothing about engineering can easily see that.

Workers should have a long belt tied on that truck so that in case one slides and fall in the falls he can be pulled, anyway this Uganda life of Ugandans is not so important.

They should all be wearing a harness, attached to a cable that has been planted/driven in the soil at both ends of the bridge. But hey this is Ug we don't fear heights or water.....
