We want to thank God for those great men and women who devoted themselves to the service of the nation and in the line of duty, lost their lives while others were maimed or became incapacitated. Some died in the course of battle, some died as a result of injuries sustained in the course of protecting the nation, and they left their loved ones behind. As an institution, the armed forces are very crucial and central to the survival of every nation, and I must admit, like every institution in Nigeria, things have not been well. As a government, we will continue to provide the necessary tools and enabling environment for the Armed Forces to effectively discharge their constitutional responsibilities of protecting the lives and property of citizens in the State. We will continue to honor our fallen heroes who sacrificed for our nation’s security.

#WATCH | Nagpur, Maharashtra: SRPF Constable Sumit Rathod has built a massive seed bank of over 1 million native seeds, supporting tree plantation and afforestation efforts. SRPF Constable, Sumit Rathod says, "... Environmental protection is a vital issue. We must all be aware of how important trees are — for people, animals, birds, nature, water, and the environment itself. I believe everyone should plant at least one tree for the sake of future generations, to help keep our environment balanced. So far, I’ve planted around 7,000–8,000 trees and donated lakhs of seeds free of cost. I collect seeds myself, prepare saplings, and distribute them across Maharashtra and India. Planting trees is easy, but keeping them alive is difficult in extreme weather. My work has been recognised by NGOs and even the Forest Department, which honoured me. I also started an initiative: instead of giving gifts or social media greetings, people should give seeds or saplings.
