Every mango, jamun, litchi, or jackfruit seed you throw away this summer could quietly become a future tree. A lot of people want to help the environment, but don’t know where to begin. Maybe the easiest start is already sitting on your plate. This summer, instead of tossing fruit seeds into the bin, collect them and send them to Give Me Trees Trust [ Give Me Trees Trusttrust], founded by Peepal Baba. Their team and volunteers sort, germinate, plant, and nurture the seeds into trees across India. You can courier collected seeds here: 33/9, Harsha Compound, UPSIDC Loni Industrial Road, Mohan Nagar, Near Rajiv Colony, Ghaziabad, India - 201007 From one small habit at home to thousands of future trees, this is the kind of climate action almost anyone can take part in. Today at the Eko Amore Gardens in Lekki, we marked the 2026 Tree Planting Day with a powerful demonstration of our collective commitment to a greener and more climate resilient Lagos. I had the honour of welcoming His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu , ably represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, along with the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Oluremi Hamzat, our Tree Champions, and community leaders. The theme for this year, “Trees for Lagos: Our City, Our Responsibility,” speaks directly to the fact that environmental stewardship is a duty we all share. Tree planting is not a ceremonial event, it is a strategic environmental intervention and one of the simplest, most effective nature based solutions to combat extreme weather, flooding, biodiversity loss, and rising temperatures. The Governor charged all Lagosians to not only plant trees but to nurture them to maturity, and he set a clear target of 20,000 trees for this year. As of June 30, we had already planted 13,401 trees representing 67 percent of that target, and a new planting season has now commenced across all 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas, running throughout the rainy season until October. I am pleased to announce that every LGA and LCDA Chairman has been designated as a Tree Custodian, responsible for nurturing and monitoring the trees planted in their jurisdictions for a minimum of 12 months to ensure survival. The Governor also unveiled the 20 Lagos Tree Champions, outstanding individuals and organisations whose contributions are advancing the greening of our State. I urge every resident to obtain free tree seedlings from LASPARK’s Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency - LASPARK nurseries, plant in your homes, schools, offices and communities, and nurture them. We are not just planting trees, we are planting hope, health, and a lasting legacy for generations to come. This is how we build a #CleanerLagos and a truly #GreaterLagos.

American Farmer Spreading Awareness, Read Every Word Of This 👇 “The seed companies are essentially bullying farmers into buying their seeds, which is another reason why your food is becoming so expensive” “Farmers can be and will be sued if they plant their own seeds” “Farmers don't own the rights to the genetics of their own seeds unless they're using heirloom seeds. So in order to have the right to plant these seeds, we have to pay a fee. The seed company can actually come on to your property, check your plants, and if the plant has any trace of their genetics, they sue the farmer. So all that hard work growing the plant, yeah, we don't own it. And the seed companies love to remind us this, by saying, we know you bought our seed last year, so if you don't buy seed again from us, we're gonna be auditing you. So my order of three totes just came in, enough to plant 300 acres of soybeans, and to have the right to plant them cost me over $30,000”

This is one of the Most Important Videos you will watch ‌ American Farmer says he’s tested his soil and it has 5x the amount of aluminum it used to have. #WATCH | Amravati, Maharashtra: BJP leader Navneet Rana says, “...Devendra Fadnavis ji has become the longest-serving Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He has received immense blessings from across the state. Since his birthday falls on the 22nd, we in the Amravati district—under the banner of the Bharatiya Janata Party—have planned a special initiative. We will bring together party workers and social activists from both rural and urban areas—spanning youth, the elderly, and women—to plant over 25,000 trees. We feel that for a leader who works so tirelessly for society and for Maharashtra, we, his 'soldiers' and party workers, should offer a gift that conveys a positive message to the public; that is why we are undertaking this massive tree-planting drive."

Today, I joined the community in Gasabo District, Rutunga Sector, Kigabiro Cell, Rukerereza Village for Umuganda. Together, we gathered in recognition of World Water Day, International Day of Forests, and World Meteorological Day important moments that remind us how much we depend on nature every single day. One of the main activities was tree planting. As I placed a young tree into the soil, It reminded me that every tree we plant is a promise to protect our land, to preserve our water, and to leave something better for the next generation. Planting trees should not be seen as a one-day ! It is something each of us should take part in, wherever we are. Because when we plant a tree, we are growing hope, protecting life, and investing in our future. #Umuganda #PlantATree

“American people and Chinese people live on one Earth. We need to focus on our similarities.” This remark reveals a moving story between Ronald Sakolsky from Pittsburgh and Yin Yuzhen, a Chinese heroine who has dedicated to protect environment by planting trees in the desert for decades. In 1999, then a teacher in China, Ronald donated $5,000 to support tree-planting efforts by Mme.Yin in Mu Us Desert in China's Inner Mongolia. It is in recent days that the two are able to reconnect online after 27 long years. The seed of good will and friendship has grown into over 50,000 trees.

This Thursday, Let’s Make History Together! This week, Ethiopia will once again rise to the challenge of building a greener, more resilient future. Tomorrow starting at 6am and as part of our Green Legacy Initiative, we will aim to plant 700 million seedlings in a single day. An ambitious target, but one that reflects the strength, unity, and determination of our people. This is more than just tree planting. It is a call to action for every citizen, young and old, urban and rural, to take part in restoring our environment, protecting our water sources, improving livelihoods, and securing a sustainable future for generations to come. I urge each and every one of you to mobilize and participate. Together, we can grow not only trees but a stronger, greener Ethiopia.

Long before climate change became a headline, Kollakkayil Devaki Amma was quietly planting saplings in her backyard in Alappuzha. After a leg injury forced her to stop paddy farming, she planted a single tree. Then another. And another. What began as healing slowly became a mission. Today, she has transformed barren coastal sandy land into a living sanctuary with 3,000+ rare, indigenous, and medicinal plants, ponds, wetlands, birds, animals, and a dense green cover that breathes life into Kerala’s coast. Four generations of her family have nurtured this forest. Her grandchildren plant trees during vacations. One even chose botany, inspired by her quiet devotion. She uses only organic manure, harvests rainwater, and makes space for birds and animals instead of fencing them out. “Planting a tree is the most effective way to cancel our carbon footprint,” she says, having done exactly that for over 40 years. India honoured her with the Padma Shri in the Unsung Heroes category for afforestation, conservation, and showing us what true environmental responsibility looks like. #Environment #Sustainability #ClimateAction #NatureLovers #PadmaShri [Environmental Conservation, Tree Plantation, Sustainable Living, Climate Change Awareness, Inspiring Indian Stories, Padma Shri]

Harit Maharashtra, Samruddha Maharashtra leads Gadchiroli's green turn! Planted a sapling in Gadchiroli today, marking the launch of 'Harit Maharashtra, Samruddha Maharashtra', A campaign to plant 1 crore trees in the district. This is more than a plantation drive; it’s a commitment to preserving nature while driving development rooted in sustainability. Gadchiroli, with its rich forest cover, plays a key role in maintaining Maharashtra’s ecological balance. Between 2014 and 2019, 50 crore trees were planted across the State. As per the 2019 Green Cover Report by the Central Government, Maharashtra was the only State to record an actual increase in forest cover, a result of collective effort and strong public participation. Building on that success, 11 crore trees will be planted this year and 25 crore next year. In Gadchiroli, 40 lakh saplings are being planted this year and 60 lakh more next year. Saplings have been sourced from Rajahmundry and local nurseries are being nurtured to grow saplings of the same strength and standard, rooted in the region and ready for the future. Each tree will be geo-tagged and tracked, and officers have come forward to adopt saplings, turning this into a people-led movement to make Gadchiroli the greenest district. Alongside this, a meaningful step toward social inclusion was taken today as 23 youth from Naxal-affected families were directly recruited into the police force. 2 of them received their appointment letters during the programme, serving as powerful symbols of trust regained, transformation embraced and new beginnings forged Gadchiroli is moving ahead. Villages have rejected Maoism and embraced peace, the Constitution, and democracy. The path to violence leads nowhere; the path to growth is open to all. This is a journey rooted in harmony, where growth meets greenery, and every step forward carries dignity, opportunity, and inclusion for all. MoS Adv Ashish Jaiswal, MLC Parinay Fuke, MLA Dr Milind Narote, MLA Dharamrao Baba Atram and other dignitaries were present. #WATCH | Delhi | On alleged ricin terror plot, AIIMS National Poison Information Centre former Chief, Dr YK Gupta says, "Ricin is a chemical, protein in nature, found in castor seeds. It is very toxic, and even a small amount of 1 milligram can be dangerous... Ricin can be inhaled or absorbed through the skin or by oral intake... It affects the respiratory system, causing difficulty in breathing, and affects the Central Nervous System, causing seizures and CNS depression... When ingested orally, it can cause severe vomiting, diarrhoea, falling blood pressure and gradual organ failure, ultimately leading to death... There is no specific antidote for this, and it is considered to be an agent of biological terrorism even today..." He also says, "In the 1970s, it was used to kill a specific person because it can be mixed into food or the environment... Castor seeds can be poisonous, and they are so hard that they don't break if swallowed, but when they do break, they can cause death... Because ricin is a protein, it denatures when heated, which helps ensure that castor oil is ricin-free. After extraction, the seeds are turned into a cake used as cattle feed, and it is also ricin-free... This type of chemical is used only in criminal activities..."

The American Farming Scam. The takeover of our seeds industry “It was never about feeding the world. It started with seeds and the power to control them - In the 80s, corporations began patenting life, not by creating it, but by tweaking seeds nature had already made and calling them their own - Then came the pitch: higher yields, fewer pests, simpler farming, and for struggling farmers, that sounded like salvation - But here's the catch: the seeds were patented. You couldn't save them from one harvest to the next. You had to buy them again, every season. That was never the case before. For thousands of years, seeds were passed down, replanted, improved. They belonged to the land and to the people who worked it. And now? Well, most farmers can't even plant without signing a contract - 4 companies control over 60% of the world's seeds - In some vegetables, they control 95% - And the pesticide? Only their seed survives it. So you buy the chemical too, from the same company. If farmers step outside the system, they risk losing their harvest. If they break the rules, they risk getting sued. That's not support, that's a trap. And what do we end up with? Farmers that are stuck by diversity collapsing and food that's made in labs instead of grown in soil. This was never about helping farmers, it was about replacing them.”

Bill Gates at White House commenting on Innovation of Vaccines and Future with AI "My second career is innovation and innovating in health in areas like vaccines or gene editing. And the president and I are talking about taking American innovation to the next level to cure and even eradicate some of these diseases." "He mentioned polio, which is one that we're close. We don't need new science on that one. For some like HIV and sickle cell, we do need new science, but the U.S. has the seeds that in the same way that Warp Speed took those seeds and put them together, I think something fantastic can be done."

#WATCH | Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde says, "... In the last 25 years, Mumbaikars had never seen a Mayor working on the streets like this. I take no personal pride in this; I am simply a grassroots worker. I rose from being a party worker to a corporator, and then to Mayor, so this is simply my fundamental way of working. I don't know how to work by sitting at home or in an office; I work by getting out on the ground. Instead of criticizing, I feel the opposition should step out and work. When trees fall, the Leader of the Opposition often holds press conferences from home. I told her that one cannot understand Mumbai's situation by sitting at home. We have to step out, communicate with the people of Mumbai, and check on their well-being. We need to be on the roads—inspecting manholes and personally examining fallen trees. Only then will government officials join us; they are already working, but this would give them added strength and renewed energy. So, I would tell the opposition: instead of criticizing, you should get out on the ground and work...There should be a comprehensive audit of both trees and manholes to identify weak trees and determine where grates or covers need to be installed."
