A Pratt & Whitney F100 turbofan is one of the most successful fighter jet engines ever built. First run was in 1972, it still powers the F-15 and F-16 more than 50 years later. Ok it's done, you can play it at ✈️ I've never ever made a game before and just made my own flight simulator 100% with Cursor in I'd say 3 hours by just telling it what I wanted It didn't go 100% smooth ofc, but 80% yes, a few times I had to go back to previous versions and keep asking the same thing a few times to fix a problem But I love this AI vibe coding VERY FUN!!! 😁 (and yes the whole flight sim is one HTML file)

But we are not moving urgently enough to use this money on what works and demand that every dollar we spend moves as many people off the streets and into safety as possible. Angelenos have voted three times to tax themselves to respond to this crisis with services and housing. Our factory is built 5 feet above ground level. And the water still found a way to get inside. This is the heaviest rain we've seen in Silvassa since we opened the factory. There is water everywhere inside. (See photos.) Power is gone. Communication is gone. We can't even reach our team to know what's happening. Nobody tells you this is what building a manufacturing business looks like. One week it's a fire. The next it's flooding. Then customs holds your shipment. Then paperwork slows everything down. Then bureaucracy makes a simple task take weeks. Every week gives you a new reason to quit. You can't avoid problems. The job of a founder is to survive them. And somehow, keep the team's morale high enough to fight another day.

This is the most powerful commercial jet engine currently flying on an operational airliner. The GE90-115B was built by GE Aerospace specifically for the Boeing 777-300ER. It weighs around 8.3 tonnes, has a 3.25 metre wide fan and produces up to 512 kN (115,000 lbf) of thrust from a single engine. To understand the sheer scale of that output, it produces roughly 2.7 times the thrust of the F135 jet engine powering the F-35, the most powerful fighter engine currently in service. The enormous fan at the front uses just 22 carbon fibre composite blades with titanium leading edges. At maximum thrust, it pulls in roughly 1.4 tonnes of air every second, with nearly 90% bypassing the core rather than passing through the combustor. At around 150 knots during takeoff, its 512 kn of thrust corresponds to roughly 39.5 MW of propulsive power, or in automotive terms around 53,000 hp from one engine. And it burns roughly 4-5 kg of jet fuel every second at maximum power conditions. Two of these engines are enough to power a fully loaded 777-300ER weighing more than 350 tonnes. Even if one engine fails after the critical point during takeoff, the aircraft is certified to continue the takeoff and climb on the remaining one GE90 engine. Each engine costs around $35-40 million. More than 2,500, GE90s engines have been built, and the GE90 family has accumulated nearly 130 million flight hours. And this is precisely why companies like GE Aerospace remain so difficult to displace in jet engines. There is never one breakthrough. This is very late, but I'm finally done with my 5.5 vid - use low reasoning - the name sucks - it's fast - best code I've ever seen a model write came from this model - openai's new pre-training is amazing - price looks worse than it is - over sensitive to every little thing in it's context window - feels wildly different compared to 5.4 - turn reasoning off. try it. turn the reasoning off. do it.

He had a bad gut feeling — oil pressure on engine #2 was trending up and the fuel system filter still needed replacing. He told the passengers straight up: “They told us the plane is good to go, but I’m not really feeling it. I’m not going to leave the ground if I’m not completely certain that we have an airworthy aircraft. So I’m refusing the aircraft. I feel a lot more comfortable making this call than flying six hours over the water and maybe having an issue.” He apologized for the delay, then had everyone deplane so maintenance could fix it properly. In a world that’s always rushing, this pilot chose safety over schedule and put every single life on that plane first ❤️ I would you rather have a pilot who listens to his gut like this than one who just sticks to the schedule no matter what... how about you?

This is genuinely one of the stupidest takes on EVs I've ever seen. This bloke wants you to pull into a service station, have someone on a forklift swap your battery out like a power tool, pay £50 (~$65 USD), and grab a Red Bull and a chocolate while you wait. He also reckons the air coming out of a modern diesel tailpipe is cleaner than the air going in. Meanwhile EV owners: – Plug in at home – Never visit a servo again – Wake up to a full charge every morning – Pay next to nothing to charge Nobody is sitting around dreaming up ways to keep going to petrol stations. The whole point is that you never have to again.

These first time buyers claimed that they bought this 'flipper' house in 2025. Everything seemed OK until the first heavy rain! They heard something that sounded like running water and went down stairs to investigate! Obviously this doesn't look good. And it's not a good sign, but what's your best guess for what would have caused something like this from just a heavy rain storm? (They said it was not a flooded yard). I guess the second thing is - What's your best guess for what this young couple will need to do in order to stop their basement from becoming an indoor wading pool every time it rains? 😬
