This is what road access looks like in Nepal after the floods. Over the weekend, with support from Nepal Scouts, a truckload of WCK kitchen supplies arrived at a school in Rasuwa, Nepal—and getting it there took five hours to travel just 7 miles. That's what access looks like in the hardest-hit areas after this week's devastating floods. WCK is setting up a kitchen at the school to prepare meals as close as possible to the families who need them most. And we won't stop; as soon as the truck returned to Kathmandu, it was loaded with equipment for another kitchen. #ChefsForNepal

Monsanto is a fascinating medieval village perched on top of a steep hill in the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova, very close to the Spanish border. It is famous worldwide for its unique granite houses built directly between and under gigantic rocks, sometimes using rocks as walls or ceilings. Due to its impressive medieval aesthetic, it served as the main stage for the prequel to Game of Thrones, The House of the Dragon, recreating the famous Dragons Rock castle.

This is a real, untouched 1958 kitchen and I am obsessed. Robin’s Egg Blue appliances, matching counters, a working electric can opener, a dumbwaiter with a pink interior, a hidden accordion door, a pull-out three-tier serving cart, and enough secret compartments to make a spy jealous. Modern kitchens really said “let’s make everything gray and boring” and called it an upgrade. Meanwhile this kitchen has more personality in one spice cabinet than most new builds have in the entire house. I don’t want an open concept. I want whatever this is. Would you keep a kitchen like this exactly as is, or would you be tempted to update it?

This log cabin was built by the McCarrolls, an Irish immigrant family, in the 1840s, when this part of Florida was still a frontier. It was later lived in by the Hogan family. The cabin includes a board-and-batten kitchen that was added onto the back of the original log structure. Today, the house sits at Morningside’s Living History Farm in Gainesville, where it was relocated to help recreate what a family farm in 1870s Florida might have looked like. The farm includes the 1840s cabin, the attached kitchen, a barn, a one-room schoolhouse, an heirloom garden, and heritage-breed farm animals. On the first Saturday of each month (September–May), the Farm offers live interpretive experiences that bring this history to life.

Two young French Catholics decided to make a very literal statement about the Christian heritage of France 🇫🇷✝️ Wearing full medieval-style armor, they hiked through the south of France carrying a large wooden Cross they had built themselves, with the goal of bringing it to an iconic medieval castle and placing it there as a public symbol of faith.
