This is one of the more popular restaurant concepts in China nowadays, with dozens of chains around it: whole roasted fish, served in a large sizzling tray swimming in a bubbling sauce of your choice (like mala, pickled pepper, garlic, etc.), atop a bed of vegetables, noodles or tofu. And just like hotpot has its regional varieties all around China (Sichuan hotpot, Mongolia hotpot, etc.), so does roasted fish. We're now in a Xinjiang roasted fish chain restaurant called "Mayouyu" where they roast the fish in a Uyghur naan oven and serve the fish with... you'll have guessed it... Uyghur naans 😅 It's actually super good: to each their taste but I'm a much bigger fan of roasted fish than hotpot personally! I'm surprised this concept hasn't caught up in the West yet (to my knowledge): it's really awesome! It might have to do with the fact that people in the West aren't used to eat fish whole, instead always having it served filleted. They don't know what they miss!

minghao sudden tmi 🤣 went to eat hairtail fish with gyu’s family!! 🐸 recently, i went to hairtail fish street with mingyu. there’s actually a whole street just for hairtail fish 👦🏻 you went there with mingyu? 🐸 together with his family too 🐶 this really counts as tmi 🐸 yes, it reminded me of hairtail fish. you really should go there at least once in the future, the atmosphere is really nice 🐶 it’s really delicious too, braised hairtail fish

I never grow tired of watching these birds do what they do best, catch fish. The amount of effort that goes into one single catch is immeasurable. From soaring through the air, to submerging themselves in a foreign underwater world to floating on the surface with an injured fish in its talons. I’ve always wondered: do sharks ever cruise up, see the chaos, and go, “Thanks for the delivery,” before snatching a two-course meal of fish and bird? Luckily for this Osprey, not today. Today, it yanked a pompano straight from its home and took to the skies with Florida’s glittering coastline as its victory lap. Glad I’m not a fish. Glad I’m not a pompano.

Are The Labour Party Erasing Working-Class Culture Through Inflation? Haddock and cod have turned into White Gold as prices keep rising. Friday was national Fish and chip day in the UK. The price of a standard serving of fish and chips for a family of 4 is now around £60. 😲 Fish and chips used to be a cheap iconic meal wrapped in paper, it's no longer affordable for most, it's become a high-end luxury, hard working Brits can no longer afford. 😢 Here in Great Grimsby we pride ourselves on having the cheapest and best chippy in the UK. A fish & chip supper with choice of sauce will set you back just £3.50 a quarter of the price in London. 😲 To celebrate national Fish and chip day, in conjunction with Mathew's Chippy who supplied it all for free, I went out making sure our homeless got to taste our culture that's in our DNA on this iconic day. Big Shout-Out To Mathew's Chippy, they go above and beyond to help our most vulnerable in our community.
