Halo: Campaign Evolved has quickly become one of my most anticipated games of the summer after its incredible new trailer We got a whole load of new information on the game as well, here are the highlights: - Previews in general are glowing, critics are widely praising the visuals, new mission designs and gameplay options - The entire game is playable in third person - Reload speeds are faster than the original - In general, rooms are bigger to accomodate for 4-player coop (original campaign was 2 players only) - There are environmental additions that point you to the right direction line markers on the foor similar to CE Anniversary - Health packs are gone, both health and shield regenerate - There is fall damage - Sprint is here but can be turned off, Aiming down sight is also here and is also toggleable - Energy Sword is now useable - Wraiths are now driveable and hijacking is in the game - Sound Design is faithful to the original with the classic barks of Elites and Grunts all returning -Goal is to make this a “modern entry point to the Halo franchise for new fans” - It will be PS5 Pro Enhanced Overall, I went from being “Eh.” to really looking forward to playing this next month. I adore Halo CE classic and nothing can replace that but this looks like its doing everything right to stand out while still staying faithful to the original, I think it will be a great time.

Finished Halo Campaign Evolved. Still need to finish coop with my daughter and collect all skulls etc but my main thoughts are...... This was excellent. It captured the feel of that og game really well, it looks gorgeous, and it reminded me that Halo is a goated game series. Fantastic work Halo

Had a lot of requests for this so here's the Battle Rifle in action in Halo Campaign Evolved! I don't use precision weapons often as you all know...😆But gameplay-wise it feels fine to me. One thing though is I do wish it had a stronger, more classic BR sound effect to it. #Halo

Launching a new Halo game with lower than minimum features is dooming the game to fail before it even ships. Halo Campaign Evolved has: -No Multiplayer -No Custom Games -No Forge -No Firefight -No Theater That's already a disaster. Halo Infinite had nice mountains and trees too... that doesn't keep players around.

I've recreated the original Halo 2 credits in-engine for Halo 2: REBALANCE!! MCC Halo 2 doesn't show the original credits by default, instead just skipping to the post-credits scene. So I took it upon myself to give everyone who contributed the recognition they deserve! Not pre-rendered, fully recreated by hand from scratch based off eyesight alone. Yes, it was exactly as tedious as it sounds. I originally planned to just import the original video, but it turns out the Bink (pre-rendered video) player for MCC Halo 2 is broken, so I had to manually set up dozens of slides and effects as textures/models in-game. At 4K resolution too, so even higher quality than the original! Slide transitions and effects are all handled via game script and like a million different object function variables. I'd then time each slide/transition so that it all matches the original video. It fits right in exactly where it should, between "Finishing this fight" and the Cortana/Gravemind scene. It's a massive shame that the original credits for not just Halo 2, but ALL the games in MCC are missing. People spent years of their lives working on these games and are probably proud of their work, only to have the modern versions of them move their credits to a website that 99% of players won't see (and won't even work offline!). I couldn't imagine how frustrating it must be to have worked on these games and not get any recognition. So, at least for Halo 2: REBALANCE, the original developers, voice actors, and everyone else involved can get their due credit.

Thank you, Halo. Only way i thought id be emotional was seeing Formal get another ring but i forgot how much Halo meant to me. Seeing all my friends and Halo family on the desk saying their farewells, really hit. This year we took a leap of faith and started the BtH Halo Watch party and it exceeded every expectation that i had. More importantly i got to do it with one of my best friends OpTic aPG. We’ve been in this for damn near 20 years and I can’t believe we’re still here. Halo will forever have a special place in my heart. Thank you HCS, OpTic, and of course the Greenwall. Congrats to Shopify on the chip, well deserved. Until next time… BtH 💚

Halo just can’t catch a break man. Microsoft hasn’t been able to do anything right with this series since Bungie left. Whether it’s 343 or anyone else. Halo 4 - Mid CE Anniversary - Bad Halo 5 - Horrendous MCC - Didn’t work for 4 years Infinite - Decent but tons of issues Halo TV Show - oh my god Give Halo to ID Software or something man they’ll cook. Besides, CE doesn’t need a Remake, especially not one that’s only half the game. This shit is timeless.

Genuinely felt schizophrenic using the sniper last night, and now I know why. Halo PLEASE TURN THIS OFF!

I'm not the biggest fan of how the 60 round Assault Rifle's spread in Halo Campaign Evolved is locked, with no way to increase accuracy with burst fire. I think it should have adjustable spread, to keep it more in line with the original version. I assume this was done because of the SMG's inclusion to reduce redundancy, since it behaves more like CE's AR with more accurate burst firing. Regardless, the resulting 60 round AR in the remake, while it's still pretty fun to use, is not as interesting mechanically, in my opinion. One of my favorite things to do in the original is to tap-fire the AR while closing the distance to my targets, then full-auto up close. I could just use the Pistol, but I really enjoy the gameplay and mechanics of the CE AR. Its bullets pierce through grunts and it has the fastest melee attack in the game. One of the most criminally underrated video game weapons of all time.

A cinematic artist in the gaming industry gave harsh critiques of this Halo Campaign Evolved cinematic on LinkedIn: “It's hard to believe that this Cinematic for one of gaming's most iconic levels is what Halo Studios is shipping, but it appears to be. From the original 18-second cinematic, which had: -A great establishing shot, showing the scale of the area, reinforcing the rings grand architecture -Sleeping grunts, foreshadowing upcoming ambush gameplay (you're making a game, remember?) -A quick gag of the grunts running scared We now have a bloated 30-second cinematic of: -A more constrained establishing shot. -Doorway framing, a cinematic language of its own not appropriate for a scene like this -Grunts awkwardly... arguing? Standing around? Flailing their arms? What are they even doing? Okay, I started playing Halo: Campaign Evolved today. I played the prequel missions and played The Pillar of Autumn. I will talk about the prequel campaigns later, but here I want to show you guys a video of a test I did today with my friend who was playing with me. We tried to kill female NPCs on the bridge... The female NPC died only once and in a completely random way. Every other male NPC we tested could be killed with a simple shot, even Keyes can be killed easily. But the NPCs we could never kill were always female ones. It is all in the video, I did not edit anything so no one can accuse me of tampering with it. Well, this is not something that changes gameplay at all, nor the story, that is true. But... it shows the developers' intentions in this remake, and it is good that it gets exposed. That is it, I will keep playing and testing things in the game
