Every single Tesla comes standard with Sentry Mode. When parked, the Tesla uses its Self-Driving cameras to provide surveillance whenever a threat or motion is detected. Tesla pioneered this. I can’t imagine having a car without this capability.

Holy shit. Just look at Tesla Self-Driving 14.1.2 mad max mode go. I've never seen a self-driving car drive like this. And then at the end the gate to the parking lot was closed, so it parked on the street instead. Amazing.

When it comes to luxury, nothing tops Tesla Self-Driving imo. Ridiculously expensive cars from Rolls-Royce, Bentley, etc. have fancy materials, but if the car can’t drive itself, what’s the point? This is the new luxury.

The 2023 Tesla Model Y has largely moved beyond traditional keys and fobs. Most drivers rely on the Tesla app, which not only unlocks and starts the car but also offers a range of smart features. One of those features is push notifications — including alerts if the trunk remains open for more than 10 minutes. That raises a key question: if Celeste’s body was being loaded into the vehicle and the process took longer than that, could D4vd have received a notification? Of course, there are caveats. It’s unclear whether D4vd even uses the Tesla app, let alone whether he has notifications enabled. Tesla still sells a standard key fob, and each car comes with key cards that can unlock and start the vehicle. The Model Y comes equipped with multiple cameras — including a dashcam and perimeter cameras that can operate in “Sentry Mode.” This mode records footage when a potential threat or unusual movement is detected, even if the car is parked. However, Sentry Mode is off by default, and it requires a Tesla USB drive to capture and store footage. Without that setup, there’d be no video to review. Bottom line: while Tesla tech could provide critical answers, much depends on what features D4vd had enabled — and what evidence, if any, was preserved. FYI — the video shows him behind the wheel of his Tesla … and it looks like he isn’t even using his hands. That suggests Autopilot was engaged — and if that’s the case, there’s a chance Sentry Mode could’ve been active too. The clip is from 10/23/2024, so it doesn’t confirm what was the settings prior to Celeste being found. Was the Tesla in self-driving mode or autopilot? It can’t be both yet ABC News said so. Makes me question the legitimacy of this article. Tesla can easily investigate what really happened and I’m sure we will find out soon.

Aurora Innovation has self-driving trucks hauling freight on US roads. Tesla has zero. Waymo does 250,000 paid robotaxi rides a week. Tesla does zero. Tesla is so far behind its competitors that you need a telescope to see it.
