Everyone should be obsessed with chasing their first $500k. Capitalism has pulled more people out of poverty than any system ever created. Stop pretending it’s evil.

100% of people lived in extreme poverty in 1800... that's now down to 10% worldwide thanks to free markets Capitalism isn't perfect but it's far better than anything else

Your life will change. Set the milestone, decide how to get there, and start. No more waiting around.

Capitalism isn’t evil. But money alone isn’t the goal either. The real win is using capital to build freedom, resilience, and long-term value.

I spent $10k on some land in the middle of nowhere spent $50k setting up toilets and showers and cutting trees and putting up tents Nobody is camping at my site and I borrowed money from my grandma to do it all What do I do now?

Money is not evil. It's neutral: It can be good. It can be bad. As Dave Ramsey says, money just "magnifies" the character of the person who possess it. If you're generous, you'll be more so. If you're stingy, you'll be more so. Having money is not the problem. Loving your money is the problem.

We don’t even have capitalism in the United States. wtf are you talking about

The hunger for that first $500k sharpens instincts. It's a proving ground. Capitalism rewards the relentless—those who outwork, outsmart. Stop blaming the game when you haven't learned the rules.

Everyone should be obsessed with converting cash directly into #GOLD $500K is a down payment on a mansion today and will be a down payment on a luxury car tomorrow. Not because capitalism isn’t the superior system, because governments steal wealth through fiat. Times changed.

Agreed. Historically, capitalism has been the most effective system at reducing mass poverty. Global extreme poverty fell from roughly 42 percent in 1981 to under 9 percent by 2019, driven largely by economic growth and market integration. Where I disagree is applying that success to the current economy. Today the data tells a different story. In the United States, productivity has risen by about 70 percent since the late 1970s, while real wages for typical workers have increased only around 10 to 15 percent. Most of the gains have flowed upward. At the same time, wealth and market power have become highly concentrated. Corporate concentration is near historic highs in many sectors, and social mobility has stagnated across much of the developed world, according to OECD and IMF research. So yes, capitalism worked in the past. But the current version of the system is increasingly shaped by elitism, monopoly power, and asset ownership rather than broad based prosperity. Pointing that out is not anti capitalist. It is simply acknowledging what the data now shows.

BASED

It also puts/keeps more people in poverty for each person it pulls out of it. Do I know a better system? Not really. But let's not make it sound all sunshine and rainbows. It's very zero sum in reality.

The $500K target is strategic because it changes the game. Below that number, money is for survival. Above it, money becomes a tool for generating more money. The compounding starts to feel real. The obsession makes sense because the threshold fundamentally changes what is possible.

Nothing evil about capitalism. The problem is that we go to school but we never learn how to make money. So the few that have learned it are envied by the many that haven't. It's not personal.

What's your take on the psychological shift that happens around that $500k mark? I've noticed hitting certain revenue milestones changes how you think about risk and time allocation, but curious if you see a pattern in behavior once people cross that threshold.

Your first $500K matters more than your opinions. Capitalism lifted billions out of poverty. Demonizing it is a luxury belief.

@BillionMagazine It can be evil Codie …. not always but it very well can be.

The first 500k is not so hard, it’s the first billion that’s hard

Money is okay. It is a tool for freedom and impact. Capitalism though made imperfect by human greed is the best system that guarantees freedom and impact.

spend your entire life chasing things you’ll never take with you when you leave this world.

Bitcoin is taking us all to $0.

Please. You worship fraudsters & scammers. Watch films about massive fraud as inspired; War Dogs,Boiler Room, Wolf of Wall Street. Are in favour of pardoning the felons; the likes of the Grisleys & Dred Pirate Robert's. Likely think Sam Bankman Fried should be Commerce Secretary.

Your first $500k isn’t just money it’s freedom, options, and leverage. Chase it obsessively. Systems aren’t evil; inaction is.

The truth is often bitter. I recently found out that it wasn't just the government that made america what it is today... There were people who took the bull by the horns People who raised the transport and construction industries People who first created a monopoly market.

that is what rich people say... if you were poor, you wouldn't think this.

Chasing goals, not guilt.

Their is different kinds. In England they 1st had Land Enclosure Movements so markets & the $ economy wasn't voluntary but coerced. In the US it was made voluntary for the white population w/ land grants which Lincoln & Sherman wanted to extend to the black population.

500k isn't worth shit these days.

This is why I like capitalism: it opens doors for everyone, even for a Gen-Z founder in India hustling to build something real. No permission needed, just pure execution.

Yeah, hitting that first $500k feels huge, it’s real proof you’ve got what it takes. But honestly, the magic happens when you don’t stop there. Keep chasing that full financial freedom

$500k is the "prove it to yourself" number. Not enough to retire. Enough to know you're not lucky.

The reward for good work is more work. Aim for this reward.

Poverty didn't exist before capitalism my friend 😭

Most people call it 'greed,' but it's actually about freedom. Once you hit that first $500k, you stop worrying about bills and start living your life.
