“BIGAY-SAYA, BIGAY-BIYAYA: HANDOG NG TEAM KIRA SA KABATAAN” Guess what? After weeks of planning, excitement, and a whole lot of love, our second fan project is finally a reality — and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Team Kira is back at it again, this time with a heartwarming mission: to bring joy and school supplies to children who need them most. 🎒✨ Why school supplies? Well, we were inspired by Kira’s touching story. During her PBB journey, she shared how she was bullied in school and eventually found her confidence and voice through showbiz. Her journey reminds us just how important education and kindness are — and we want every child to know that they matter, they belong, and that learning is a powerful gift. Through this project, we hope they feel encouraged and supported, while also learning how important values are like respect, understanding and pakikipagkapwa-tao. We have already distributed school supplies to three schools: Dinet Elementary School and Calampisao Elementary School, both with 150 students, and Debangan Elementary School with 148 students. But wait — we’re not done yet! We also have another school on our list: Maytegued Elementary School, with 150 students. A total of 448 students, and all of these schools are located in Palawan. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this incredible project possible — to our fellow KiraBelles for your love, support, and donations. From 2027, Zimbabwe will require every school without exception to register its learners for ZIMSEC examinations. The era of parallel foreign examination systems operating outside our national framework is over. It's mandatory for all students to write ZIMSEC. However, schools wishing to offer both ZIMSEC and Cambridge should apply for permission to do so provided there is justification for it. This is not an attack on academic excellence. We are not banning Cambridge examinations .This is an assertion of national sovereignty over our own Education System. Zimbabwe's children deserve to be assessed on a common, uniform standard one that this government controls, benchmarks, and continuously improves. For too long, a two-tier system has told some children that their futures are validated in Cambridge and told others that ZIMSEC is somehow second best. That ends now. Private institutions operating on Zimbabwean soil have a clear directive: align with the national framework. This is not negotiable. Government policy is unambiguous comply or fall out of step with the direction this Republic is moving. We are building one education system. One standard. One Zimbabwe. Every child regardless of the school they attend or the uniform they wear deserves equal recognition under a national framework that belongs to all of us.All School Kids are the same.

For this to be true, his parents would’ve either have to been in on their son having “handlers”—or just completely and irredeemably checked out of his life. A "rape list" ranking girls by who boys most and least want to rape, was circulating in a North East school last week. This isn't a rumour or a joke. It isn't banter, either. This is part of a pattern of sexualising and objectifying comments that girls say they hear in classrooms, on the street, and online. Every woman knows what I'm talking about. Watch this video ⬇️ One girl put it simply: "It makes you just feel… worthless." Domestic abuse charities are very clear about this. When this language becomes normal, the attitudes don't stay in school. They seep into early relationships, into every day life. One woman here says they're already seeing 13 and 14 yr old girls recognising they were abused by boys the same age. This is shameful. Does anyone else remember rape lists at school? I certainly don't. And in the North East, domestic violence rates are already way above the national average. Most boys will never act on the language. But the ones who might are learning that this is just how things are if nobody challenges it. Add porn into the mix and what chance do girls have? The young women who made this film have a straightforward message: Don't stay quiet. Speak up. Is this being taken seriously enough in schools, or is it still being brushed off as 'boys will be boys'?

Today, Councillor Dan McLean and I announced that we’re exploring a pilot project to install turnstiles at select C-Train stations. Our transit system should be a place where everyone; students heading to school, seniors running errands, shift workers coming home late, and families, can travel without fear. Right now, Calgary is one of the only major city in Canada without turnstiles on its transit system. It’s time to ask whether this is part of the problem and whether fare gates could help restore safety and confidence for riders. I know turnstiles aren’t a magic fix, but Calgarians deserve to feel safe on transit. That’s why I’m calling for a feasibility study to examine costs, accessibility, and safety impacts. It’s time to put rider safety first and take real steps toward rebuilding trust in Calgary’s transit system.

What I heard about Antisemitism Inside British Schools Should Worry Everyone. A 🧵 I started working on this project for selfish reasons. As parents of Jewish children who were born in the U.K, we often think about which education system will be right for our family. For months, I interviewed and talked to students, teachers, headteachers, and parents. What I learned frightened me. Like many Jews, Jack's parents wanted him to go to a non-Jewish secondary school and assimilate with the general British public. "We didn't want to feel like we were in a ghetto", his mum told me.
