AFP’s Danny Kemp: “Mr. Vice President, you presumably watched the video yourself. There’s not the slightest doubt in your mind, having viewed it, that this the victim — you still believe that she deliberately tried to ram him despite despite seeing this video?” Vice President JD Vance JD Vance: “Look, I don’t know what it’s in a person’s heart or in a person’s head. And obviously, we’re not going to get the chance to ask this woman what was going on. What I am certain of is that she violated the law. What I am certain of is that that officer had every reason to think that he was under very serious threat for injury, or in fact, his life. What is I’m certain of that she accelerated in a way where she ran into the guy. I don’t know what was in her heart and what was in her head, but I know that she violated the law, and I know that officer was acting in self-defense. That’s raises an interesting point, though. Look, if people want to say that we should have a legitimate debate about, you know, what was she really doing, right? Was she panicking when she drove into this officer, or was she actually trying to ram him? That’s a — that’s a reasonable conversation. What’s not reasonable is for so many of you to plaster all over the media that this was an innocent woman and that the ICE agent committed murder, which is what many of you have said explicitly, and some of you have said implicitly. That’s what I have an objection to. The idea that this was not justified is absurd and I think everybody knows it in their heart.”

POV of what led to Fairfield High School, Officer Bianca Brown allegedly used excessive force against student Maurice Williams. According to Fairfield police, a school resource officer responded to a "physical altercation involving multiple students on campus" just after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Police say a high school student was fighting a school official who was trying to break up the fight. According to Fairfield police, the officer then saw another student trying to retrieve an item from a backpack during the fight - which the officer believed was a weapon. The officer then confiscated two backpacks. Police say the officer then escorted one of the students involved in the fight to a campus office. They say a large group followed the pair, including other students "who were actively trying to fight the student the officer had detained." After the student had been taken to the office, police say the officer tried to approach a second student who was trying to fight. The student refused to listen, according to police, and went back to a large group, where more students were fighting. The officer then tried to detain the second student, police said, but they tried to pull away. At this point, other police officers had arrived at the school to help with the response. Police say the student then hit the officer, which prompted the officer to perform what they called a "takedown technique" and place the student on the ground. As the officer tried to place the student in handcuffs, the student resisted, police said. In the press release shared Thursday, police detailed what happened before the officer placed the student in handcuffs. "The second student placed his hands over his head and covered his face. An officer grabbed his wrist and tried to place his hand behind his back. The second student tensed his arms, and the officer was unable to overcome his resistance," Fairfield police said. "The officer administered a distraction strike to the second student's hands. The officer tried again to pull his arm behind his back but was still not able to overcome his resistance." After additional "distraction strikes," police arrested the student. As police worked to arrest the second student, they say the first student, who had initially been taken to the office, ran out of the school office to where the officer and the other student were. The first student was later arrested. Police said they found sharp objects, including a screwdriver, in the two backpacks they confiscated. In a letter sent to the campus community, Fairfield High School officials acknowledged what occurred on the campus on Wednesday. "At the end of lunch today at Fairfield High, there was a fight amongst multiple students.A Fairfield Police officer was working at the school, and called for additional officers to respond. We are also aware there are videos circulating on social media of the incident," the school said in a statement. The police have not publicly identified the officer involved. They said she is not on leave and that they are investigating the incident.

This dad called 911 because his seven year old autistic son wasn’t behaving and was having a tantrum. The officer that spoke with him told the father that it was completely inappropriate to call the police over this. He said they have an entire town to protect and three officers responded and then asks the dad while chuckling - “can’t handle a seven year old?” The dad tells him that he has called 911 twice before but no one has ever got mad at him like this officer. The officer tells him that they are approaching charging him with false summoning a police officer. He also tells him that if he can’t handle a seven year then maybe they should get CYS involved because clearly the dad needs parenting classes. 😳 Many said the officer was rude and didn’t have to be. That his job is to protect and SERVE the community and that the family was just reaching out, that he needed support and someone to to talk to because they have no idea how hard it is to raise an autistic child? But others said this is not a job for a police officer, that they aren’t counselors and therapists and that there are many resources available through the city that he should using. 💯 I am team police officer. Some may find it rude but this is not in their job description. And being the third time? You have to put a stop to the 911 calls. What do you think? Do you think the officer had a right to be upset and talk the way he was talking to the dad being that this is the third time this has happened? Or, do you think he should have had more compassion for the father?

Officer Tatum challenges Gary Chambers to name one thing Democrats have done for Black Americans. Officer Tatum: Mr. Chambers cannot mention one thing that Democrats have done for the Black community. I’ll mention a few things Donald Trump has. And I’ll wait for him to start. Stephen A. Smith: Gary, I’ll give you an opportunity to respond directly to what Officer Tatum just said. Gary Chambers: When you talk about majority Black cities, conservatives have always run the government that approves the spending. Gary Chambers: We make up 56% of the city, but we don’t have a majority on the council because of gerrymandering and racialized voting. Gary Chambers: The East Baton Rouge Parish school system is 80% Black, but we have a majority white Republican school board because the legislature continues to deny Black people fair representation. Gary Chambers: So when you talk about these things, you chuckle because you don’t have anything to go against these facts. Officer Tatum: Here you go. You just said your daughter goes to a public school in that parish. Gary Chambers: Public schools. Officer Tatum: You said your daughter is doing well in those public schools. Stephen A. Smith: Hold on, guys. Nobody’s getting cut off here. You can listen to each other. Go ahead, Officer Tatum. Officer Tatum: So make your mind up. Are the white Republicans doing negative things that’s causing your daughter to go to a bad school… or does your daughter go to a very successful school in the parish you’re talking about that’s run by white Republicans?

Here is the FULL body cam footage of the arrest and the events that led up to it. And here is a breakdown of what ACTUALLY happened. - On May 20th at approximately 12:34 p.m., a Fairfield Police Officer serving as a School Resource Officer responded to a large physical fight involving multiple students at Fairfield High School. During the altercation, one student physically fought with a school official who was attempting to break up the fight, prompting the officer to immediately request emergency assistance. - While trying to stop the fight, the officer observed a student attempting to retrieve an item from a backpack. Believing the student could be reaching for a weapon, the officer confiscated two backpacks and turned them over to school staff. - The officer escorted one involved student to the school office, while a large crowd of students followed behind and continued attempting to fight the detained student. - The officer then attempted to detain a second student who was actively trying to continue the fight. The student refused commands, ran into a crowd where additional fights were occurring, and then struck the officer in an attempt to avoid being detained. - As the officer escorted the second student toward the school office, the student repeatedly pulled away and continued resisting. Additional officers arrived to assist with the escalating situation. - The second student suddenly broke free and turned aggressively toward the officer after already assaulting him. Another responding officer immediately performed a takedown maneuver to stop the student before the situation escalated further and to protect the officer from additional harm. - Even after being taken to the ground, the second student continued resisting arrest by tensing his arms, covering his face, and refusing to place his hands behind his back while officers attempted to handcuff him. - Officers used distraction strikes to gain compliance after repeated failed attempts to secure the student’s hands. The student eventually complied and was placed under arrest. - Officers later located sharp objects, including a screwdriver, inside the confiscated backpacks. Both students were arrested for causing a disturbance on a school campus and resisting arrest. According to police, no officers or students were injured during the incident. Do I REALLY need to point out that the officer himself is black?

Stephen A. Smith Presses Officer Tatum to Defend His Claims in the Nolan Wells Case Stephen A. Smith: My question to you, Officer Tatum, is: why do you think the parents decided to go that route? What are your thoughts? Officer Tatum: There’s two thoughts that come to my mind. One, is that Al Sharpton and Benjamin Crump are manipulating this family’s trauma in order for them to make a crap ton of money. That’s one. The second one is, is the parents trying to cash in on this. Stephen A. Smith: But hold on. It’s one thing to feel what you feel about Benjamin Crump, Reverend Al Sharpton, etc. It’s another thing entirely to lump the parents who just lost their child, and accuse, talking about they’re trying to profit off this. You sure you want to say that? Officer Tatum: Let me be clear about this. You asked me what my thoughts were. I didn’t say that that was facts. I just said those are my thoughts based on a few facts. Stephen A. Smith: Okay. Officer Tatum: Ain’t no reason for Al Sharpton to be doing that boy’s eulogy when Al never knew him. Charles F. Coleman Jr.: That’s not even your call or your business to make, that family had a choice. And who is that, why is that, they don’t have to answer to you. Officer Tatum: They don’t, but I have an opinion. Charles F. Coleman Jr.: That family had a choice. They could have chosen anyone they wanted to. That’s their choice. Officer Tatum: It don’t seem normal to me for a man that don’t even preach sermons to do a eulogy for a boy that he didn’t know.
