@EdalaHomes This is quite encouraging, as I'm currently at the stage where things seems tight, but with this your story I believe if I push harder there is light at the end of the tunnel.

@EdalaHomes I applied to P&G in March 2018. About 100 of us wrote the test. Three interviews later, only two of us were recruited. Myself and @TheNimblar I was headhunted in 2021 to join KPMG, I deferred the job to join 4 months later. Check out my LinkedIn

Karl-Anthony Towns talks about feeling the presence of his late mother and the support he's gotten from his fiancé, Jordyn Woods: "Her presence is always felt in my life. You always pray you're going to pick the right woman for you and I know I did in my fiancé. I damn sure know now with that bag, that bag held it down. Shout-out to Woods by Jordyn. It's crazy, when she passed, there was so much turmoil in my life. Funny enough, my fiancé was the one, who was a friend at the time, was the only person I got to call before I had to go out there and say bye to her at the hospital. Me and her have a real bond that goes deeper than just physical features and everything like that. We've got a true friendship that was built from the ground up. I remember just always asking her if this was going to be my last time seeing her in the physical, let me feel her spirit at all times. In moments of true pressure and a lot of things going on, I always feel this calming come to me and it's always her. It's just great to always feel her arms around me and always to feel her love in my life, in so many different ways. It's a testament. I haven't felt love from a woman like that until I met my fiancé. It really means a lot that, in a way - without sounding weird - Jackie Jr. was able to be here celebrating this moment with me. It's amazing. It's truly a humbling feeling when you know you have walked the path. I stayed faithful. In every decision that I was supposed to make, I made the right one. Feels good to be at this moment."

My first MLB home run - a dream come true. My entire life led to this moment, but what happened 10 minutes before was the reason it came that night. I was in the cage preparing to pinch hit with our asst. hitting coach Donnie Ecker, and one of our roving hitting coaches Cody Atkinson. Great dudes and great coaches. The pitcher was Austin Adams, a right hander with a tough slider that he threw 90% of the time. After I got loose, my coaches set the machine up for a nasty back foot slider to mimic Adams. I hopped in and swung and missed at the first 3. Right where I want to be! Donnie and Cody told me to purposely swing and miss at the next 5. But, to do it missing inside and underneath the ball. It didn’t make any sense to me, and I was hoping to atleast touch a ball before I was in the game. But I trusted them and did what they told me. After those 5, it was time to go back to hitting. Still slightly confused, I proceeded to hit laser after laser. Whoa, that’s crazy. What missing on purpose that way did was dial in the bat path I needed to hit the slider in that location. Inside and underneath was now ingrained in my brain. Bench coach pops his head in - “O’Grady, if Tuck gets on you’re hitting”. Boom. I head to the dugout as our catcher Tucker Barnhart is walking up to the plate. He has a phenomenal at bat, working a walk. My turn. I did my routine, and stepped in the box. I laid off a slider in the dirt first pitch. “Nice take Brian” I tell myself. For a split second I thought about sitting on a slider. I quickly decided my usual approach gave me the best chance and I’d adjust if it was a good slider to hit. 96 mph fastball down and in – exactly where I was just working in the cage. Different pitch, but the same principle. I knew it was gone as soon as I hit it, and it felt like I was floating around the bases. Truly something I’ll never forget. All those years of playing and practicing, but a simple thought adjustment made it happen in Seattle.

When I started my first company back in 2012, I realized something big: Accountants are the heartbeat of every business—they’re the ones keeping everything honest behind the scenes. But, I also noticed they’re often stuck with outdated, manual tools, doing work that could and should be automated. This seemed almost designed to hold them back from reaching their full potential. So, 3 companies and many years later, we decided to build Puzzle— to give accountants the modern accounting tools they deserve. Over the past few months, we’ve been hearing more and more from hashtag#accountants about what they need to make their work faster and less repetitive, and it’s clear they’re ready for a change. In just under a year since launching to the public, Puzzle has: - Handled over $30B in transactions - Supported 3,000+ businesses, 400+ bookkeepers - Double our new signups last month alone! So, why do accountants deserve better tools? The reality is tough. - With 75% of accountants nearing retirement and 300K+ leaving the field, burnout is at an all-time high - Excel and QuickBooks have barely changed since the ’80s - Some in the industry tell clients to “fire their accountants” Puzzle has a different vision: empowering, not replacing, accounting professionals. Today, I’m thrilled to announce Puzzle’s next-gen accrual accounting solution, which automates 90% of an accountant’s routine tasks. Big shoutout to VentureBeat Michael Nuñez for covering our launch! 😑 “You know, when I did the 250, there was nothing I could do. It was 250. It was 250. So I can't see -- that was my baby. The country happened to be 250 years old. But what I did do is during my first term, I got the Olympics, and I got the Great Soccer. You know that whole deal, right? I got -- we call it soccer. They call it football. I got them both. I got the Olympics. First, I got the Olympics, and I got it. I was president. And I said, you know, it's a shame. It's a shame. I got the World Cup, and I have the Olympics, and I did it. And you have no idea. President Obama didn't want to make a call to the Olympics. You know why? Because he went to Switzerland or wherever, and he said, you know, if a president goes to get the Olympics, you have to have a deal. You have to be chosen. He went there, and he came in fourth, so he hated them, I guess. And he was unwilling to make a call, and they called me up. The Democrats called me up, actually, from Los Angeles, and I said, I'll do it. I made the call, and I couldn't get the people off the phone because they were so starved for love, because nobody would call them from -- anyway, we made a deal. I got the Olympics. Then we got the World Cup with Johnny. We got the World Cup, and I got them both, and I looked at my people. I said, isn't it a shame? I got these two, but it wasn't in the next four years. It was right after that, and the one after that. And I got the Olympics, and I got the World Cup, and we also have 250, so that's a pretty wild term. But I got these two things that are incredible. Nobody else could have done it. I'm telling you, everybody wanted it. Nobody could have done it. And I said, and I won't be president, because I'll be president for four more years, but it won't be -- and then they cheated and rigged the election. They rigged -- you know, they don't even turn off the cameras when I say that now, because now they know it's true, too. But they knew it was true before. Remember, the cameras used to immediately turn off. You see all those beautiful red lights go off. Now I can say whatever I want, because then they know it's true. But they knew it was true before. It's fake news. That's why they call it. But you know what? This term is much more consequential than if I had done it the more traditional way. This was slightly harder, believe me. It's slightly more dangerous, because they're criminals on the other side that tried to put your president in jail and went after him, just like they do in third-world countries. And we all beat em together. We beat em because our level of popularity was so high.”

Mental Health Motivation today courtesy of me and Rondé Barber. So here’s the deal gang, 5 years ago, I was stuck in one of the darkest, most painful periods of my life. The dark gray got so bad I wasn’t thinking sensibly to the point where I would go to sleep at night hoping tomorrow wouldn’t come. This was well before I ever talked publicly about my depression, anxiety and mental health issues or wrote my book Unbreakable about it. So for the first time I did something I now implore alllll of us to do when we are hurting. For the first time… I FINALLY called my boys (my teammates in life) and told them how much pain I was in and that I needed help. I was heading to Tampa for the Super Bowl and the day before I left I called this man, Ronde Barber and two of our other friends Ben Heldfund and Brian Rhattigan and told them I needed to meet up down there because I was going through something. At first they couldn’t because they already had plans but then I communicated much more directly and said, “No, guys I NEED to meet, I AM STRUGGLING… BADLY!!!” All three immediately dropped their other plans and said, “What time and where? I got you!” I GOT YOU Their reaction changed everything for me that day. I think it was the first time I ever really truly told friends about my mental health battles in detail. I didn’t hold back. Didn’t try to wear a mask anymore and hide my pain behind the mask of a huge personality. I was real with them. Their reaction changed my life. Showed me the power of “I got you!” And showed me the power of opening up and leaning into my teammates. Folks, since I’ve opened up it’s turned friends into brothers and sisters. And those bonds will be the same bonds there for us now, in 5 years, 15 years, 50 years. Safety in Vulnerability was the greatest gift they could have given me. So I want to implore ALL of you… LEAN INTO YOUR TEAMMATES!!! I will do ANYTHING for my teammates. Ronde, Ben, Brian… thank you! I got you too!

This is it! . 1 year ago today, I walked off the mound for the last time! . It took everything in my power not to cry immediately while leaving the field. My wave to the crowd was to my family. All 15 of them. I wanted them all there to experience it with me. When I looked up in to the crowd, and saw the excitement of my sons, parents, sisters and their husbands, my nieces and nephews…it was everything I could have ever wanted to end my career! . I got to rewrite my storybook finish! . Thank you Port Dover, Team Ontario, Team Canada, University of Notre Dame, Canisius College, Brantford Red Sox and the WMBL for molding me. The Yankees for being the only team to give me a shot in pro ball back in 2007…and promptly releasing me…ha! An enormous amount of thanks and gratitude to the Brewers for giving me a second chance, and the amazing people in that organization that stuck with me and helped launch my career. Milwaukee is always in my heart. Thank you to the wonderful organizations in St. Louis, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Colorado, and Los Angeles. Every one was an incredible stop along this journey. I will love Oakland and feel at home there forever. And as a Canadian kid, growing up a fan of the Blue Jays, it will always be surreal to me that I got suit up in that uniform and pitch for my hometown team. My love of Major League baseball started in Toronto…and will continue there for the rest of my life! . Thank you to all the fans, every coach, teammate, trainer, front office staff, clubhouse worker, therapist, friend, and everyone along the way. Your impact was immeasurable. . Thank you to my agent Danny Horwits and everyone at BHSC…instead of just being my agent you were my friend and a part of my family. . Lastly, I wouldn’t have had the career I did without my family and their continuous support. To my parents, Brian and Vera…thank you for everything. My sisters Marsha, Michelle, and Theresa, your sacrifices didn’t go unnoticed. I love you all immensely. And, of course, my sons JB and Jameson… I’m so happy I got share part this journey with you both. And even happier to move on to your journeys next! I love you both forever. . That is it! . Taehyung on his journey to being an Idol from a small dance academy in Daegu to Bighit auditions 🗣️: So how did you start becoming an idol? 🐻: I started going to a dance academy, and that’s where I came across an audition for non-majors. I heard Big Hit was holding auditions, so I went but honestly, my skills weren’t that great. I had only been learning for about seven months 🐻: So I just had a basic foundation. I didn’t really know choreography or anything like that. 🗣️: Then why dance? 🐻 Honestly… what I’ve always liked the most is dancing. Ever since I was young, my grandparents would always tell me I was good at it, so I started to believe it. But when I actually went to a dance academy, I realized I wasn’t really that good. 🐻 Around that time, I heard there was a Big Hit audition and it had been about seven months. But honestly, I just wanted to see people in Seoul, so I went out of curiosity. It felt new like a different kind of atmosphere. Back then, people from Seoul seemed like they were all successful somehow. So I just wanted to see that for myself 🐻: After the audition ended, a BigHit staff member came up to me: “Did you come here to audition?” I said, “No, I just came to look around.” But they said, “Let’s see you try anyway,” so I ended up auditioning. 🐻: I got cast right there on the spot. They told me, “Come up to Seoul.” That’s how it started. 🗣️: What did you do there? Took photos? 🐻: No… they asked me to sing. 🐻: But honestly, I had never really learned how to sing. I had mostly just listened to CDs growing up; older songs, trot music with my grandparents. So I tried singing a more recent pop song, but it didn’t leave much of an impression 🐻: Then I thought, “Let me try something I’m better at,” so I danced. But compared to others, there was still a big gap in skill. 🐻: So I tried everything, rap, beatboxing… and finally, I played the saxophone. 🗣️: Did you ever ask why you got in? 🐻 I did! asked, “How did I get accepted?”And I think, they just found me interesting. 🗣️: In what way? 🐻 Even though I wasn’t that good, I kind of acted like I was doing well but my expressions were sincere. So maybe it looked like, “I’m not very skilled, but my expressions feel experienced.” 🐻 So I think that’s how I got in. 🗣️ But honestly, for people chasing dreams in music, film or anything; I think stories like these can give them strength. That even if you’re not at your best, there are people who can see your potential. Atleast thats what I believe
