Everything that you need to know about Pets in CS2 ‼️ - You get an Egg as a weekly drop from Weekly Care Package, and it takes one week or so (7 days or more) for it to hatch into a chick. - Pets require Chicken Feed to remain... around and you get that through the Weekly Care Packages. And yes, your pet will leave you if it isn't fed. - Lifecycle of a Pet: Egg -> Chick -> Pullet -> Hen - As your Pet grows, it becomes progressively more integrated with the game: younger stages (Chick) are restricted, while an older pet (Pullet) can accompany you in your matches. - You will be able to name or rename your Pet and its history is preserved in a HatchBook. - The HatchBook will have history of all your pets, which are no longer with you. It's auto-generated. - There's a Photo Booth where you can take your Pet's Photo in poses, filters, hats, effects (fire/lightning/confetti) and unlockable map stages. - Certain photo poses, locations and activities are restricted until the Pet reaches the required age/maturity. - Also, there are milestones, birthdays, special interactions that you can celebrate with your Pet. - Your pet has its own achievement/progression flags like Warehouse unlocks simply when the pet reaches Pullet (level 2). Dust II, Baggage, Mirage, Inferno, Nuke, Cache, Train and Ancient each have their own visited-* achievement. - You need to finish a match on the map on official servers to get that specific achievement. - There are also survival or bravery achievements like killed-by-burn, killed-by-taser and killed-by-planted-c4. - And in the end of it's life cycle your pet, can retire due to age despite feeding it properly by playing every week. ❌ What we don't know right now is the exact growth times between Chick -> Pullet -> Hen and exact adult lifespan. Yup, the Feed will cost 2 slots just like the Egg based on the current code/strings. But I am not sure if it will be dropped every week.

I am not sure about the chicken being in the match with you. If he is gonna follow you through your match, he might reveal your position in certain situation I think? He is after all another model who will be standing next to you, or little behind. Enemy could see him first.

There is the Pet equipment slot and SVG file, which makes them equippable in the match. Also, there are achievements your pet can get if they die in the match.

They want to put in a cheap retention mechanic that makes sure you complete atleast a few matches a week, you clock in, make sure the numbers look good. Rather than fixing the core game by implementing a decent anti cheat and better servers.
