That worldview is embodied by Abdulraman Mohamed El-Sayed Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, the Islamic-communist nominee for U.S. Senate in Michigan, who as Director of the Detroit Health Department starting in 2015, directly oversaw Detroit Animal Control during a scandal where the kill rate hit 74%. Under El-Sayed, the kennels at Detroit Animal Control were flooded with feces and urine, the facility was infested with cockroaches and rats, and whistleblowers went on the record to call it a “slaughterhouse” because so many dogs were dying. In December 2015, Detroit’s 7 Action News WXYZ Detroit reported, “The City of Detroit Health Director Abdul El-Sayed barred 7 Action News from interviewing the new head of animal control, telling one of our reporters that it was because of the stories we've done on Detroit Animal Control.” Source: Abdul El-Sayed deliberately tried to cover up the mistreatment of animals inside Detroit Animal Control when the local media was trying to expose bad conditions and advocate for innocent animals. Ultimately, the city paid $63,000 to settle the resulting lawsuit after the whistleblower was fired. So now we know why Julius Malema couldn't understand why Feroz Khan should appear before the Ad Hoc Committee. When I called for accountability over Major-General Feroz Khan in 2024, I wasn't met with answers instead I was met with a lawyer's letter demanding that I retract my statements and "cease and desist." The concerns were already there: questionable procurement, the Secret Service Account, alleged media smear campaigns, and allegations of defeating the ends of justice. When I called for accountability over Major-General Feroz Khan in 2024, I wasn't met with answers instead I was met with a lawyer's letter demanding that I retract my statements and "cease and desist." The concerns were already there: questionable procurement, the Secret Service Account, alleged media smear campaigns, and allegations of defeating the ends of justice.
