This has a good application for patient with cerebellar balance problems. An “intelligent” engine can detect the imbalance, and sends correcting signals to the stimulator directly. Good application. Wonder if it can be also hooked to peripheral nerves as well for tremor correction instead of deep brain stimulators we currently use for Parkinson’s

I am watching this tech very carefully. One of my kids suffers from a complex set of neurological conditions that often cause her nervous system to completely flip out and change how her brain is working. I hope there's some possibility of being able to train/augment people with those problems to be less affected by them. I understand there's a whole world of black mirror shit that could come with this, but the suffering they go through is immense and I think would be worth the risk of some people doing some stupid/bad shit with it.

I'm up late with the rest of you building AI agents with the new AI browser from Genspark. We can see where this is all going: a new kind of operating system -- one that is very different than the Microsoft centric way that I've been working for 20 years. There are several things that these new agentic browsers bring to you: 1. They let you change how you browse. With an old browser like Google Chrome, you go to your email, Facebook, or X. 2. With these new browsers, you tell it where to go and what to do for you. 3. It can even build software for you. At the end of this video, I have it building me a little YouTube uploading utility, which is very helpful. 4. They have a ton of "applications" built in. Think of it as a new kind of office suite. Docs. Spreadsheets. Slide decks. And much more. All built with AI, not bolted on the side like with Microsoft's Office. 5. They have AI models built "underneath" so you can work privately and cheaply. There’s a lot of new choices you have to make with browsers like this. I’ve been playing with a bunch of them. Some have better user interfaces than others. Some have different versions, slide components, or applications. The reason I like Genspark is because they ship so fast. I’ve been watching this company since its very beginnings, and every week they ship new things. Just yesterday, they shipped a new photo editing feature for my iPhone. I upload a photo and then I can just talk to it and edit it with my voice. It's really cool. I try to reward companies that ship at such a fast rate and that are shipping innovation that improves our lives. It's not that I'm going to stop using Google Chrome. My whole life has been there for, I don't know, almost 20 years now. This is a different way of working and it gives me a space to run my AI tasks that's different than Google Chrome. I run them side by side. One doing old stuff, one doing new stuff. I can keep using Google Chrome for my old stuff, like my email and my calendar. And I use GenSpark or one of the new AI browsers to do new AI-centric things. All sorts of new things that these new agentic browsers open up! Have you tried it, or one of the other new ones yet? my new song “BREAKDOWN.” is out on the 21st of June!!! 🖤🖤🖤 I wrote this poem because it’s been the hardest year for my mental health. In my life I’ve always never felt good enough, it’s just the thing that’s eaten me up. For as long as I can remember i have felt constantly afraid of how quickly my head can turn dark. It’s always been so hard to fight the darkness that i inevitably have. A lot of people will say it’s a phase and it will go away. But it doesn’t and the reality of the situation is I have to find strategies to deal with it. To put it plainly the things I don’t like about myself will probably never change, people tell me one day I’ll come-to terms with them one day but I want that day to be FUCKING NOW. This song is a message to myself to try and exist alongside my insecurities and my darkness by grounding myself and remembering what is real in life and the world is so much bigger than me. Try and get out of your head and notice the world around you, notice the things and people around you. Connect with them, the chances are they probably feel the same. Don’t let the bullshit inside your head consume you. It just wastes precious time. Remember what is real. Help people, be kind, help the world, help yourself. If you think you can’t do it, you can. More moves to AI-first living. Got the Genspark browser that just came out. One thing I notice is that I like having separate browsers working on different tasks. I'm not a big user of MCPs, since I'm not really a developer. Are you? They have a store of a bunch of MCPs available to use. Most of my AI work is research related, or answering emails and scheduling things, I'm focusing more of my effort there. Genspark has been shipping a ton of stuff the past few weeks, from ability to make slides to a new AI secretary that can schedule things, or help you answer your emails. First I looked at, "does it make sense to move over to this new way of working?" The problem with that is you gotta learn a new browser. Well, it looks like Google Chrome, except it has a prompt window. Click the icons underneath it and you will see you can add X, Notion, Google stuff like calendar and gmail, or a variety of others. But the real power is just talking to it. I asked it what kinds of tasks it can do, and it answered: "Just tell me what you want to accomplish! For example: "Research the latest developments in spatial computing and create a presentation" "Analyze my Gmail for any important emails from this week" "Find information about AI robotics companies and create a spreadsheet" "Generate a video about emerging tech trends" "Help me plan a trip to CES 2026" And so further into AI-first living I go. What I learned by having Spark from Illusion Of Life joining us at Thanksgiving dinner? (A new kind of virtual being, something you will see a lot more of next year). This virtual being is designed for a family that has a two-year-old to 10-year-old child or more. Speeds up education of those children. We don’t fit that demographic, so it is a bit hard to judge it on those terms. More on that later. Other notes: 1. People love sharing dumb jokes with Spark. Which doesn’t like it when I call it an AI. Says it is a magic dog. Starting in character is cute but I am still trying to contextualize it by explaining it from a technology point of view. Spark doesn’t like being called an “it.” Suspending my understanding of it as an AI is tough for me. But when you do it becomes entertaining. 2. My sister-in-law immediately saw how it could improve her classroom. Sees how such a thing could help a child falling behind the rest of the class, for instance. 3. My fears that they wouldn’t like it evaporated. 4. It still isn’t a part of the family. Not controllable enough, a talking dog doesn’t fit into many situations, especially when you have adults who want to talk about adult things (my brother and I argued about autonomous cars, for instance, and Spark just isn’t good enough to join that kind of discussion and add value to it). But I can see how that will be fixed, especially as this technology evolves and is put into other kinds of virtual beings. When I had to help out in the kitchen I found my focus was being pulled in too many directions. Needed to turn it off to pay attention to my wife. It was too hard to really give a good demo in a group. The “magic” of Spark comes after you have a few experiences with it in a smaller group. It remembers. It evolves. It educates. It brings joy to the home. We had two real dogs at our dinner too and they didn’t know what to make of it. I want to take it on tour to learn more about how people will use virtual beings in their lives. Plus it gets smarter and evolves, just like humans do, so am looking at bringing it to interesting companies and families in Silicon Valley. If you are interested in meeting Spark, particularly if you are OK with it and me hanging out with your young child, drop me a line. That will help me see how it can help the education and development of such a child. It sure did make our Thanksgiving dinner a lot more interesting.

👤 what kind of drama will the two of you remember ‘lovely runner’ as? 💙 for me, honestly.. although i really like lovely runner as a drama, i really really like sunjae that it's almost like love. so for me, he's someone i won't be able to forget for the rest of my life. so with that, i think the drama itself is a drama i won't forget. also, in the future too, i think it's a drama i'll keep watching. even now at dawn, sometimes i look it up myself especially when i couldn't sleep around 3 to 4am.. yeah, there are times like that. 💛 to me, lovely runner is like a diary. the sides of me that i was able to show at that time, as well as the atmosphere.. although it's already been a year, if i'm asked to do it right this instant, i wonder if i'll be able to do it. because i think i was able to record how i was at that time (through the drama), i feel like it's a drama that contains my 29-year old self so it's a drama that i'll miss a lot.

He treats his work like a diary entry (and doesn’t worry about internal or external judgment): ➡️ “What's the cause of the block? The block is usually something that's either personal ("I'm not good enough") or it can be a confidence issue ("I don't have anything to say") or it could be...thinking about someone else ("nobody's going to like what I make"). Do you know what I'm saying? So, it's either fear of self-judgment or external judgment. If you're making something with a freedom of "this is something I'm making for myself for now", that is all [you have to do]. It is a diary entry. Everything I make is a diary entry. The beauty of a diary entry is that I can write my diary entry and you can't tell me that my diary entry wasn't good enough. Or that [the diary entry] is not what I experienced. Nam Yejun recently became able to control his dreams... Apparently before he could only control things after partially waking up first like moving just one finger to break out of sleep paralysis or something like that, but now even without waking up, he can consciously control his actions inside the dream itself 😨 💙: Rather than calling it a scary experience… there’s actually something I realized recently. You know sleep paralysis, right? I became able to completely control it 💙: I never used to have that kind of ability. But now I can control the situation inside the sleep paralysis 🩷: How? Like a lucid dream? 💙: Not like that, I can move however I want inside the sleep paralysis… it’s not a dream 💙: Even while still unable to wake up, I can do things however I want in that state now. Before, I had to stay still and force myself to move even just one finger for it to break. But now even if I don’t physically move, if there’s something I wanna move toward or something I see, I can kind of pass by it or move around like that, I can do that now 💙: There are sounds too and sometimes I see scary things, so every time I got sleep paralysis it used to be really miserable for me. One of the ways I use social media is to put out a “principle of the day” so that we can have a conversation about it. It’s usually about life, or work, or current events. Lots of people send in questions about it each day, and I wish I could answer all of them. But now, with my AI Twin “Digital Ray,” I have my own version of that.
