We can't clean up Washington without restoring integrity to the Supreme Court. That's why I believe we should expand the Supreme Court to 13 justices. And then, institute term limits. Because an appointment to the Supreme Court shouldn't mean a lifetime lack of accountability.

We need term limits and a binding code of conduct and ethics for the U.S. Supreme Court. Justice Thomas has been on the bench almost as long as I’ve been alive — that’s not good government. There is no binding code of conduct or ethics for Justices of the Supreme Court — that’s dead wrong. Congress can and must do something about this, and I’m working to get it done.

I spoke to Elex Michaelson about the need to reform the Supreme Court, including a term limit for justices. This would be constitutional, as long as justices are permitted to rotate onto an appeals or district court. The rub — the Supreme Court would need to be expanded, or the current right-wing majority would strike down such a commonsense limit on its power.
