We want to take a moment to applaud the courage of our CAIR-Texas team. The very next day after Governor Greg Abbott issued his unconstitutional and defamatory proclamation, the CAIR-Texas team went to work as usual while signing off on a federal lawsuit and preparing to testify at a state Board of Education hearing in defense of student rights. Before that hearing started, security warned members of our CAIR-Texas team that a suspicious individual had entered the building and demanded to know if any CAIR leaders were present. While this man was searching for our staff, the CAIR-Texas team was given the option of leaving the building with a police escort. They declined. Each of them stayed and delivered their testimony. As a civil rights organization, CAIR was founded to both shield the American Muslim community from hate and protect every American's right to exercise free speech, practice their own faith, and speak up for justice here and abroad. Being a shield means taking arrows. CAIR-Texas has been a shining example of courage under fire and an inspiration to our entire organization, alhamdulillah (praise and thanks to God). We applaud them, we stand with them, and we encourage all Americans to continue speaking up for due process, free speech, and religious freedom in the face of Greg Abbott's latest attempt to silence critics of a foreign government. Today, CAIR CAIR National sent out a press release attacking me, and at their GALA in Tampa, FL tonight where Jihadist Sami Hamdi Sami Hamdi سامي الهاشمي الحامدي was set to be their keynote speaker until he was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement today in California for supporting Islamic terrorists, CAIR claimed they raised $1.2 million tonight by opposing me. See press release here: The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has been identified in federal proceedings as having historical financial and organizational ties to Hamas—a designated foreign Islamic terrorist organization—and the Muslim Brotherhood. Despite these documented connections, CAIR retains its status as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. Today, CAIR issued a press release criticizing my advocacy efforts to get Jihadist Sami Hamdi deported from the US. At its Florida chapter gala this evening, where Sami Hamdi—a vocal supporter of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood—was scheduled as their keynote speaker, CAIR announced it had raised $1.2 million, attributing the funds raised in part to opposition against “Laura Loomer”. This is a developing situation. — Video analysis provided by Josh Brooks : Cell phone footage recorded near East 34th Street and Portland Avenue shows members of ICE attempting to clear a blocked road during on-going operations in the Minneapolis area. It's unclear exactly what caused the individual driving the vehicle to block the road, but it's likely that the person was attempting to impede ICE operations in the area which is fairly normal for downtown Minneapolis. After several seconds, the vehicle in question attempts to drive away from the ICE agents that are confronting the driver. The wheels of the suspect vehicle slip on the ice before the driver gets traction and starts to speed away from the scene, prompting the ICE agents to open fire, killing the driver and causing them to crash into an adjacent power pole and vehicle. 🚨BREAKING: ICE agents admit on video that they illegally pulled over a car driving down a street in Minneapolis. In the video, multiple ICE agents are seen surrounding a civilian vehicle with several cars. Both back doors of the vehicle are open as agents stand around it. An ICE agent is heard saying: “We just want to make sure you are good, you were driving like a complete maniac, and the way that you’re acting, we have to verify if you are good, and then we will be out of here.” That statement matters… because ICE does not have general authority to conduct traffic stops. Immigration enforcement agents cannot pull someone over for alleged driving behavior. That power belongs to state and local law enforcement, not federal immigration officers. There is no claim of a specific crime. No explanation of probable cause. No warrant shown. Just ICE agents stopping a car, detaining the occupants, and admitting on camera that they initiated the stop based on how someone was “driving.” That is an unlawful stop. Under the Constitution, law enforcement cannot seize or detain someone without legal authority or probable cause. Blocking a vehicle, surrounding it with agents, opening doors, and questioning occupants is a seizure… and doing so without lawful authority is a violation of the Fourth Amendment. If ICE can pull over random cars, invent a reason, and detain people with no warrant and no authority, then the question isn’t whether this was illegal… It’s how many more unconstitutional stops they’ll get away with before someone gets hurt again.
